Save Money with Godaddy Discount Codes
What are Godaddy Coupon Codes?
[UPDATE : The best Godaddy discount code at the moment for .com domain names is goaz2001ai - reduces price to $7.17 all inc.]
Godaddy coupon codes or Godaddy promo codes are free and totally legal and are used to get you discounts on Godaddy products. So if you are buying stuff from Godaddy then it makes sense to use coupon codes to get a reduction on whatever it is you want to buy.
Lots of online retailers make use of coupons or coupon codes to offer discounts on their products. These codes have various names such as godaddy coupon codes, godaddy promo codes, promotional codes, discount codes, promo codes, voucher codes etc..
Godaddy sells all sorts of products via its website including domain names, web hosting, web site design, email plans etc... When you visit the Godaddy site find what it is you want to buy then click on buy or cart and you will be sent to the page where you buy whatever it is you want (NOT) ! Godaddy is notorious for trying to sell you all sorts of other crap you don't want or need so when trying to buy anything off their site it is like manoeuvring your way through a mine field ! Just make sure you don't add anything to your shopping cart on the way, look for those tiny little links that take you to the next step inyour quest to buy your stuff and avoid those GREAT BIG ADS that say CLICK HERE TO BUY MORE CRAP or words to that effect.
When you finally get to the invoice page just enter any code you may have into the little window where it says code and hopefully your invoice will be reduced by around 10 - 20 % if your code doesn't work just keep trying different codes until one of them does ! It's easy and surprisingly satisfying !

Unlucky Ryan. I guess there is a lot of money to be lost in domains, it sounds like you jumped in at the deep end.
I registered around a hundred names and sold one or two for a lot more than I paid for them so I only ended up a couple of hundred dollars down ! I've still got a few dozen which I am hanging on to - some of which I have turned into blogs - such as http://www.sharescity.com and http://www.usanetbooks.com (a couple of shameless free plugs for myself there !)
Some people seem to make money from domain names but it is not as easy as it looks.
Did you turn any of your names into sites ? (Free links available here :-) )
Nope.... I have held onto one which is my name and one other premium one word domain (in spanish), I sold the rest as a whole batch of domains for about 40% of their original complete registration price! There was some good keyword domains there, but there was so much work involved in trying to sell them that it was proving to be counter productive. I thought about development, but at the time there was no way I could have managed it. Ironically, I now have all the time in the world.... but hey you win some and you lose some!
It sounds like we had similar experiences, a lot of work for little return. Still, a one word Spanish name, if it's a dotcom or a .es could be worth a lot of money, when you see dull names like Trusted.com selling for $50k it makes you wonder who buys them and why they don't buy mine !
I think that it is too easy to fall into the trap of believing that your domain name is one of those worth $5000, when in reality.... there are thousands of similar names on Sedo inviting bids of $60..... I also found myself missing out on some complete bargains, and that was just too demoralising. For example, I found moonraker.com in the expired domains section of godaddy.com..... it would have cost me $5. Moonraker, in case you didnt know, is one of the most famous James Bond movies of all time! I also could have had rapes.com for $11 once (although this would be the strong word to use for a counselling website, and I would feel very uneasy at the type of attraction it would gain, hence my lack of action). For the moonraker one, I lost my credit card at just the wrong time.... I guess that things werent moving fast enough for me to get over the missed opportunities, and in the frustration of missed opportunities I would spend unwisely on new registrations. 9999 out of 10000 there is a very good reason why a domain is not registered - its because nobody wants it. The other 1 time is somebody elses massive mistake, its just a shame that I never found those 1's!
For those that got into .com and high level domestic extensions (such as .co.uk, .es, .de) at the right time.... they will be laughing if they have managed to maintain their portfolios for 10-15 years.... those that consistently make good money have had to find the money to register those domains over a long period. But boy have they had their rewards.
I tend to be a quick in - quick out kind of entreprenuer. I like to see quick rewards, sell something almost before I have bought it. I could see a little potential in sitting on .info and .in domains for a decade.... but I just dont have that sort of patience for any investment other than stocks or funds.
Anyway, sorry for the essay.... I registered a domain for personal use today and it brought me back to this thread.
Ryan.
Hi Ryan,
The essay is fine ! Domain names are a fascinating business. I think we both found that buying domains is easy selling domains is a lot more difficult. I wrote another short hub about making money from domains - http://hubpages.com/hub/Make-Money-Online-from-Dom -
Unlucky with Moonraker ! I agree it would have been a good catch, although I see it is just sittin gthere as a parked page, I'm suprised they haven't developed it into a site. If there is ever a remake of Moonraker the guy should make a mint.
I find the domain business exceedingly slow too and a lot of effort which may or may not pay off. I also get annoyed at having names turned down for auctions when other worse names are accepted - this led me to suspect it was a question of who you know in the live auction business - plus some of their terms and conditions are outrageous !
I registered quite a few decent .in names but couldn't afford to keep on renewing them which is a big problem for people just starting out with limited resources.
Like you say it is a long-term business unless you get extraordinarly lucky or are prepared to flip a lot of names for small profits.
I still harbour dreams of selling a big one !

- Find Available Domains and Twitter Names with TweexchangeMashable13 hours ago
Remember Tweexchange ? It used to be a Twitter username marketplace, which seemed like a solid (or, better put, inevitable) idea, but it obviously didn’t last very long, since the site has been purchased by Blast Applications and now hosts a completely different service. The new Tweexchange lets you quickly find available Twitter usernames and web domain names (through GoDaddy) at the same time ...
- Tweexchange Lets You Check Available Twitter Usernames And Domain NamesTechCrunch14 hours ago
Tweexchange , once a marketplace for Twitter handles (that operated against Twitter's TOS) is now a site where you can check whether or not the username you had in mind for your new Twitter account is still available. As a bonus, and thanks to a partnership with domain registrar and hosting company GoDaddy , you'll also get to see which domain names related to your desired username are still ...

'Domaining' remains my single biggest ever business failure. I entered blindly and lost a lot of money, I realised afterwards that I was simply about 10-15 years too late!
Still, this hub isnt really about domaining of course, its for anyone that wants to buy domains/hosting etc.... but godaddy brings back painful memories!
Good hub.
