For anyone who reads my blogs, they know that religion has played an important part in my life, not that I’m a religious nut, or a fundamentalist by any means, but my art, my education, my training, has all been as a man searching for faith, spirituality, and a meaning in life. During my formative years two Broadway plays opened up that expressed a generation’s attitude toward religion “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Godspell”

In a era of flower power, love ins, and the peace movement, (ya, I’m an old hippie) these movies showed that the message of Christ could break free from religious tradition and still have relevance to a modern world.

Even though I will still listen to Superstar during Easter for the passion of Christ, Godspell still remains one of my major influences. I love the message, the attitude, and the music of this show.

I just recently found a version of the movie “Godspell” broken up in parts for youtube, it’s a bit out dated, and the film version, doesn’t capture the excitement of the stage, but it still has impact, and a message, so I’m happy to share it with you, enjoy… Oh, and tell  me what you think, I would love to get a dialogue started.

the first 2 parts I couldn't embed so you have to click on link to youtube to watch

Sorry one more link you have to go to youtube to watch
