Going Strong on My Story for NaNoWriMo
61Reaching my goal!
I have been writing now for two days, getting a really good start yesterday even though I was at my parents’ house visiting. I wrote and wrote in a notebook that I took with me, getting out the ideas that had been bottled up in my head ever since I joined the website. I have transferred it from my notebook and into my laptop, saving it every so often just in case anything should happen. I definitely don’t want to lose anything I have written so far. I have very much enjoyed breathing my characters to life, giving them names, ideas, purpose in my young adult story. I am still thinking about the title but the title I have given the story is sticking strong, the title being Secrets at a Secret School.
The story is based in California in a high school where it doesn’t just teach the usual courses i.e. Math, English, Social Studies but also courses that help the students lead a life of hunting for demons. Demon Training, Astrology, and Demon Psychology being just a few of the class that help train these teens into great demon hunters. My six main characters are the best in the school though one outshines the rest, Scout, the one who has had several near death experiences as well as actually dying though because of her strong will, her need to save people, and the love from her friends have always brought her back the land of the living. My characters are blossoming into people I really enjoy writing as well wouldn’t mind really hanging out with them if they were real.
My mind is still reeling with ideas and scenes for the story that I cannot wait to write. This story has been a fun one to think up and I cannot wait to see the finished product, hopefully maybe getting this one to an agent who enjoys it just as much as I enjoyed writing it. Next month will be the month of proofreading, helping my story flow better, and editing but for now all I must do is write write write write and then write some more until I finish it.
I hope that this story ends up on book shelves everywhere one day but for now I must write it until it shines like a ruby amongst dull stones. I have almost reached my writing goal for today but even when I do reach it I will continue to write and continue writing until it is time to sleep tonight. And I will continue to write until I am completely finished with this one story.
Never Giving Up!
I don’t write just for myself anymore…but also for my papa, my grandpa, who has suffered his second stroke after suffering a huge stroke 6 years ago December. I know that he doesn’t want me to waist my talent in writing so this story is for him as well as myself and my other family and friends who push me to write. He is my inspiration having survived the first stroke, the first stroke having caused a lot of brain damage and bleeding but he came out with flying colors, talking and walking all on his own after getting better from the stroke. It was a slow process and he may have to go through it again after this stroke but I know that his will is what gives him the strength he needs plus all of our love for him. I should look at this and stop my complaining about writing being so hard and just do it! I know that I will get many rejection letters but that won’t stop me! Being near to death didn’t stop my papa from living the first time and hopefully maybe this time as well, though if he does pass I know that he had a long, healthy, great life. And because of this nothing is going to get in my way of completing this story in a month and then moving on to finish many many more stories. And nothing wills stop me from making my dream of becoming a published author! This is for you, Papa!!! I LOVE YOU AND I AM NEVER GOING TO STOP WRITING!!! I will make my dreams come true not just for myself but for you, my strong and loving grandpa, my inspiration.
Word Count
As of right now, my word count has hit 8,230 and I am still going strong though I do want to take a break. I am striving to reach 10,000 + word count today so that I can have a lot done under my belt. It is going very well so far and I am really enjoying this story and the way it is going.

Wow! Awesome. I'm at just over 3400, so I'm hitting my daily goal of 1667 words a day but I'd like to be farther along. I have a kind of a paranormal theme too. Hooray for you! Great progress! :)
