Farming for Gold in WoW Made Easy

Before we get started let me just say this: farming for gold in any game - World of Warcraft included - is a royal pain in the butt. Gold farming is a tedious method for getting money, but I honestly don't know any way that produces consitent results time and time again.

If you try to re/sell items on the auction house, chances arethat you can get burned - your item goes unsold and you lose money instead of making a profit. And, if you're a treaure hunter, there is a good chance that you won't get any really valuable items from treasures chests.

Unlike those two options, gold farming is consitent, and consitency is boring. So, the easiest way to farm gold in World of Warcraft is to prepare yourself mentally.

Windowed Mode - The single best way to start is to enable windowed mode, which allows you to easily switch between WoW and anything else on your computer.Believe me,being able to switch from gold farming to something more entertaining is worth it.

Keep Your Mind Busy - Always have something else going on in the background. It doesn't matter if it's a new CD, some playlist running in SeeqPod, or a movie running in the background have something else running so your brain doesn't die of boredom.

Take Frequent Breaks - When you're farming for gold you're going to get bored. The only thing you can do to stave off boredom is to take breaks and distract yourself with something else. For every hour I farm gold, I like to take 30 minutes to do something else.

Buy a Comfortable Chair - It's bad enoughusing a computer when you've got an uncomfortable chair, but imagine doing somethig monotonous and boring for several hours a day in an uncomfortable chair. do yourself a huge favor and invest in a decent chair.

Best Farming Tips

Now that you've established a good farming environemnt - mentally busy and comfortable - it's time to make the most of your Warcraft gold farming time.

Preparation - Depending on your characters class and level, you'll never certain items to make the msot of your farming time. If you can conjure food and drinks (mages) then you need only consider what equipment you're going to use; however, if you are not a mage, or you're not going to bring one in your party, then you need to consider bringing your own supply of drinks and food.

Location - It would be great if you could farm in the highest level areas, but most of the time you can't Farming is generally always going to take place in a location that is several levels below your current level. So, you'll need to scout out the best locations where you can easily kill the mot monsters in the least amount of time, and get the most valuable loot to drop. Since every character is different, you'll have to do your own homework here.

Loot Priority - If you're going after one piece of loot in particular, you can easily discard everything else; however, if you're going after loot to sell in general you'll have to priporitize loot based on its value. Also, if you're near a town, it may be worth your while to sell unwanted loot at a merchant, but this depends on the value of the loot and length of time it takes to travel from the town to your camp.
