Gold Reef City is a place of pleasure in Joburg. This entertainment centre offers something for the whole family. Rides for the kids, gambling or shopping for mom and dad.

Gold Reef City boasts a 24 hour casino with a fantastic entertainment atmosphere. The staff are courteous and well-trained. This casino offers a variety of games and machines for your enjoyment.

Fun rides like the Anaconda (for the not so faint hearted) will have the adrenaline pumping and your hair raised in horror at the height and speed it travels.Fun rides include the Flintstones, Miners' Revenge, Golden Loop ... and for those a little less adventurous, a ride on the log down the "waterfall" will have you screaming for a few seconds and if you want, you can have your picture taken just as your log ride hits the "surf".

4D movie theatre - this is the first 4D theatre in South Africa. The theatre will tickle your senses (hear, see, touch, smell) - this will surely be one of the most memorable movie experiences

Things that I don't know if it is still open at Gold Reef City:

• They had a mine tour and like a real miner you were lowered into the belly of the earth and wandered the tunnels (with a trained guide of course). Wearing a hard hat and walking in the mine shaft the guide would've toldl you all about the operations and mechanics of mining.

• The Press, at the press you were shown how newspapers were printed and could even have your own stamp made while you waited.

Entrance fees - Weekends, School Holidays and Public Holidays:

• R110,00 per person, including all rides, shows and exhibitions, but excluding Jozi's Story of Gold

• Senior citizens (over 60) R70,00 pp
• Family Ticket @ R350 for a family of 4 (four) - 2 parents with 2 children under 16 yrs (a saving of R90 per family!)

• Multipass @ R200 allowing one person 3 (three) visits to Gold Reef City Theme Park (a saving of R130!)

• Family tickets are for 4 (four) people only, and valid only on the day of issue.
