GoldGlove Be Gamin'

Where should I begin?
Well, I guess I'll start with introducing myself. That's usually a fairly decent start. Well, I'm Brennon O'Neill. An 18 year old college student who has a love for video games and a knack for knowing what people like to see. Known to many as GoldGlove. My online alias and real life nickname is not just something people randomly thought up. The name GoldGlove has true meaning in my life. When I was 15 years old and still attending high school, I was heavy into playing baseball and basketball. Basketball was always something I enjoyed but baseball was my true passion. I can't say I was the best, but I can say I had the most heart and the best attitude when it came to the game. I played my best and gave it my all day in and day out. My sophomore year in high school was a bad one. During the beginning of the baseball season, I sustained an injury. An injury that I knew was terrible right away. I had torn my rotator cuff and was told without surgery and without months of psychical therapy, I wasn't going to be able to throw a baseball like I once could. I decided to try and get by with just the psychical therapy, but the lack of money caused me to have to drop my sessions and forget about healing my shoulder. I couldn't afford surgery and I could no longer afford therapy. It took a toll on me but I finally just came to my senses and realized that I could do other things with my life besides baseball. So to remind me of what I can no longer do, I decided to keep a part of my baseball life intact, thus becoming GoldGlove.
You're probably thinking, "Wait. Isn't this completely backwards? Shouldn't most kids realize that gaming is a waste of life and decide they can do other things with their lives?" That's very true. But just because gaming is a hobby, doesn't mean they don't have a life. After my injury, I took up gaming. Before, I had just been a casual gamer, mainly sports games and such. But I decided to take up shooters and more competitive gaming.
In December of 2006, I bought my Xbox 360. Instantly fell in love with the notorious game known as Gears of War. By October of 2007, I was competing in MLG events and in Las Vegas placed 15th place in the tournament. Earning me a semi-professional status, but unfortunately, was unable to return for the next season due to finance issues. I bounced from team to team and we never did well. At this point, I was becoming a pretty popular player in the Gears community. I had produced a few videos showcasing my skills and people were intrigued to say the least. Time passed and I continued to make videos to entertain people. I am now focused on becoming a video editing guru. I hope to compete once again in gaming this coming November when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 drops.
Until then, I wanted to just create a page where everyone could enjoy my rants, my stories of my life, what I do, and of course the videos that I create just for you. The people. The viewers. The communities. So follow, digg, spread the word, help me and I'll help you guys by entertaining you with my many videos.
Catch you all later, GoldGlove.
