The funniest comedy show ever has to be without a doubt, The Golden Girls, a fun loving bunch of 4 women: Dorothy, Sophia, Blanche and Rose who all share a home together in beautiful Miami Beach during the 1980's.  Each of these women share a distinctive personality.

Dorothy is the smart, shrewd woman who fights for justice.  She has a heart of gold but is not quick to let anyone pull the wool over her eyes.  She was happily married to a schmuck named Stan- (A womanizing, lonely bar lounge type of guy) until he broke her heart by cheating. Ever since, Stan has been crawling on his hands and knees, trying to beg Dorothy to take him back, to no avail.

Sophia is a tough no nonsense type of grandma who could put Grandma Moses to shame.  She is an excellent Italian cook, a jokester, a confidant, and a storyteller all rolled up into one.  Sophia carries with her a lot of wisdom from her days living in Sicily, she always starts her funny line, Picture it, Sicily, 1955, a poor mother goes through the street.......  You can actually picture the scenes through her words, it's pretty amazing, LOL

Blanche is a sexy model diva who will stop at nothing to win the attention of a man suitor.  She could be well paid as a high school sex education instructor because she is very knowledgable about love and relationships.  Her wild stories of her dates will simply put you in awe, it's like, how does she come up with this stuff, LOL.  Although Blanche searches for love in all the wrong places, she is truly a Southern gal; she has grace and charm and she has a cute Southern accent that would immediately stop rush hour traffic, LOL.

Rose is my favorite character of all; she is a comedian at best; she always has a Saint Olaf story to tell (She was from St. Olaf, Minnesota).  The rest of the women think that she's a total airhead, especially Sophia who loves to tease her from time to time.  Rose is very naive, but she has a gentle soul and a heart of gold.  She would never hurt a fly.  She was in love with her high school sweetheart, Charlie, but since he had passed away, she has been dating other older men. 

I grew up watching the Golden Girls and fell in love with their personalities and wild stories.  It's just refreshing to watch how 4 women were able to bond and to share their personal lives with each other.  On a sad day, they were able to cheer me up with their silly antics and constant fighting.

Rose kept a chicken called Count Bessie and would teach it to play a minature piano.  Rose was hilarious when she started to peck at the keys with her nose, making me to think, which was the real chicken in this show?  LOL.    But then Aunt Angela came to town and was going to cook a chicken and happened to come across Bessie, and well gulp, you know what happens after that...

Angela and her sister, Sophia fought over a high school date and called each other horrible names.  It was a hilarious scene; Dorothy had to break up the two and send them both to their rooms.  After a terrible misunderstanding, they made up and were the best of friends again. How nice!

The Golden Girls lasted for many years, bringing smiles and laughter to many people.  I was saddened to learn that both Estelle Getty and Bea Arthur have passed away, but there legacy lives on today. Have a great day and watch those silly Golden Girls episodes!
