I use Goldenseal for anything from Ear Aches, Sore Throats, Sinus Infections, Stomach Ulcers, and Skin Infections. It really can be used for almost anything that spreads, or worsens from stage to stage.

Recently my husband developed a very bad rash on his hand from Latex Gloves. He had an open wound on his hand, and used the latex glove with no sign of a problem. Later that day, a raised bubbling rash appeared, with intense pain.

We're very into natural remedies, and began trying particular mixtures of herbs, and tinctures. They worked, but didn't erradicate it.

Two people we know are Nurses, and they both said he has Cellulitis, which I already suspected. Cellulitis is very difficult to contain once it has reached the raised bubbling point. It's bacteria trapped under thte skin, and usually requires Intravenous Antibiotics. It's a situation where most people begin to panic.

Not us though, we were onto our 4th tincture, which was next in line in the vitamin cabinet. Goldenseal Root (liquid)(alchohol free). A few drops right onto the wound, and we literally watched the swelling go down before our eyes. We continued to watch it for quite a while, as it went down to normal size in less than 24 hours. By the next morning, we were amazed to find the hand to be it's normal size all over, and the raised bubbling rash had completely shrank.

It did take a few days, as regular antibiotics would've taken, the point is though it worked. We were repeatedly told by Nurses, the local Hospital, and our friends that it can't be corrected without Intravenous Antibiotics.

Once again my friends, you are worng, and I was right. He is fine, he has no sign of infection, his temp. is normal (always was), and his hand is healed. Luckily we caught it in time, before it entered his blood, and caused blood poisoning. Fortunately for him, I know what to watch for.

Let's take this a step further. I'm smart, but I don't claim to know everything. Just a lot of things I studied. I'm always continuing to learn new things every day. What I learned recently was that I can't live without Goldenseal.

It didn't occur to me until I saw the astounding results of my husbands hand. Sometimes when you take vitamins, herbs, and supplemets for a very long time, you forget just how much impact they have on your health. I was using Goldenseal liquid for brushing my teeth, with Tea Tree Oil every day since 1992. Well in Nov. 2007, I went to the health food store to get more, and they were out. I forgot to get it after that. I really didn't think it would be a tremendous problem. So I didn't get it for a while.

A few months went by, and I continued to forget it. Worst mistake I could've ever made. I'll tell you why. It had been keeping my chronic sinus infections under control. Only I didn't know just how much control. Until I stopped using it (Goldenseal). Only if you're paying attention will you realize it.

From Nov. 07 to April 08 I didn't use the Goldenseal. Meanwhile that whole time, I felt like I had a perpetual sinus infection raging out of control. Even though I was still taking all my usual stuff, (as listed in my other hubs), but I wasn't brushing with the Goldenseal. Boy could I kick myself! ...lol

So I got to watch my husbands cellulitis get healed right before my eyes, and it was like being clobbered over the head! I said to myself...Duh! You idiot! It's the Goldenseal! It's the Goldenseal! I went running around the house, yelling, "It's the Goldenseal!" Well that is when it hit me, and I said to my husband...I'm so smart...I'm stupid! LOL

Needless to say, I have recorrected the problem with the chronic Sinus Nightmare, and I'm feeling like my normal sick self, not the beaten down sick self, the sick self with all the energy, and smiles! Let me tell you, this is one of the main components to stopping, and halting any kind of infection...I don't care what it is!

I will argue with doctors, and nurses everywhere, that they are wrong, and there are definitely things that are natural that work! Once again, I am the living proof it's really true. Can you believe it? I can...I live it!

The next time you feel sick, or get an infection...TAKE GOLDENSEAL!

Take it at the first sign of infection, or illness. Drink it, rub it on Acne, Skin Rashes, "Cellulitis", Ear Aches, Strep Throat, Staph infection, and more.

It will also kill H-Pylori, which is what is thought to cause ulcers. It's a very common bacteria all of us pick up...everywhere we go. It also kills Mouth Germs, including Trench Mouth.

Since I have had 21 mouth, gum, and sinus surgeries, I can tell you this...I wouldn't have made it through all of that without the Goldenseal. I'm considered an extreme case, with chronic problems. So they say. Every time I do see a doctor, which is annually, they want to operate on my sinus. I just laugh, and tell them...maybe next year. :)

I am so incredibly grateful for Nature. I'm also grateful to my husband for getting that skin rash...lol...Otherwise I wouldn't have witnessed how amazing this root is. It showed me it's powers so well...Never will I go without it again!

Most Nutrition Books advise not to take Goldenseaal for more than 30 days at a time. This is for a normal regular healthy person. For extreme cases like me, it is absolutely necessary to keep the ugly green sinus monster at bay, by brushing with Goldenseal every day. It had monumental success in protecting me from non stop raging sinus infections, that were in fact green. Not anymore...Thanks Mother Nature! I sure can't live without you!
