Create A Golf Fitness Program For Massive Drives

What is the main thing all golfers want to do? If I lined up 100 of them what do you think they'd all say? I'll put my money on the "hit it longer" desire. Since you've gotten to this page, I will assume you are a golfer. Am I right? Would you like to have 30 more yards to all your drives?

With all the technology in equipment and instruction why is it that golfers aren't playing better or hitting their drives longer? You would think that most amateurs would be shooting their lowest scores and crushing their drives but they aren't. It's actually the opposite. For every golfer that picks up the game of golf, another golfer quits the game. Golfers are frustrated. They've purchased hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in gimmicky training aids. Several hundred more in golf lessons. And even more money hitting balls at the range.

With all that effort and guidance what gives?

Well...there is a lot of talk going on in the golfing community about fitness and golf. For many decades golf was viewed as a leisure event that was more social (including drinking on the course and after the round). That's all changed now because of a guy name Tiger Woods. Tiger brought a new athleticism to the tour and with it he brought a work ethic that included training with a fitness professional during EVERY tournament. Yes...Tiger works out all week every week of a tournament.

Everybody wants to know what Tiger does in his workouts with his trainer. I can tell you fitness is fitness. He is working his core, he is stretching and he does regular cardio work. He doesn't skip any component of fitness. He and his trainer know that a comple golf fitness program must have a strength component, a stretching component AND a cardio component. Skipping one of these is a total waste of your time.

Golf Fitness Exercises

Exercises that are specific to the golf swing are the most effective for longer drives and improved consistency. Going to a gym and using the machines is NOT golf specific nor will it strengthen your golf muscles. Golf is done in a standing position that is very unique (golf posture). No machine can duplicate this. You must incorporate golf swing specific exercises to see results.

Same goes with stretching. Doing basic stretches will not improve your golf backswing. You MUST do golf swing specific stretches to improve your range of motion in your golf swing. These stretches are unique to the positions of your golf swing.

Results

The bottom line is results. Every golfer wants to play better and hit it longer. It doesn't matter how much you spend or how much time you put in...it all comes down to results. Are you getting a return on your time and money investment. If you're not, make a change...NOW!
