Golf Swing Common Sense
60Golf Swing Common Sense Targets Fundamentals That Will Improve Your Game.
If you love golf as much as I do, then you can appreciate anyone offering tips and advice towards you mastering your own Golf-Swing. Let's first lay a firm foundation on what Golf Swing Common Sense is all about - If I told you to dive off a 3 meter high diving-board blind folded vs. unblind folded, which one would give you the most confidence in executing the dive properly?
Yes, this is a no-brainer of course. Here's the point. Yes, you can execute both techniques but undoubtedly one will be more effective than the other due soley to a predetermined confidence level before the task. You see most golfers never get to proper technique for whatever reason. From day one they play the game like the "blind folded diver" never reaching their full potential. You see my attempt is to convince you that you're wearing a blindfold and by simply taking it off, your confidence level to see clearly to execute an efficient and effective golf-swing will increase.
Understanding The Question Of Why. Why do you lack distance, accuracy, consistency and confidence? Confidence is extremely important as a golfer or in any sport for that matter. Whatever technique you are currently using to hit the golf-ball is a product of what you feel confident or less confident in doing. Most golfers feel 80% less confident and 20% confident over every shot when playing a round of golf. We need to turn these numbers around to our favor, don't you think? How can we do this?
First Lesson- I am 42 yrs. old, 135lbs, 5'7" and consistently play in the mid 70's. My average drive is about 280 yards, but as you can see I must have some athletic ability to play this game. For the most part I'm going to take for granted you know how to hold the golf club properly. Next, we simply need to gain confidence in our ability to release the golf club at the ball. Do you or have you ever played the game of baseball, softball, rackeball, cricket, or tennis? If so, we are going to make some comparisons so you can understand how to shift your weight properly while releasing the energy your body stored. For my baseball players - recall your motions when you're just standing still with a ball and bat in your hands. You throw the ball up and hit it to the outfield or infield. Your timing, balance and release produces the results you had in mind. Notice how your wrist hinge naturally, how everything seems to lag behind waiting until the last moment to release this massive amount of energy. Go hit some baseballs until you clearly understand how you seem to be doing it effortlessly, then replace the bat with a golf-club and mimic the same confident motion of that effortless swing. Listen, until you're confident you have the same effortless, lagging behind, wrist-hinged baseball swing with your golf-club do not stop practicing this common sense approach.
The golf-swing is powerful when it's released properly. The keywords for today's article is "Lagging Behind", understand why this must happen by exmaining your very own baseball swing.
Also, look at still photos of the pro's during impact from the rear. You will see this lagging behind motion you must resolve.
