When it comes to playing golf besides your clubs a golf umbrella is just about a necessity to your golf bag.We have all been there: just rounding the 7th hole and suddenly the skies open up and down pours the rain. Those who have thought ahead and brought their golf umbrellas will at the least gain a competitive advantage once (and if) play resumes! Rain is all too common out on the golf course, even down in Florida. In fact, I bet more than half the rounds I’ve played in Florida have included at least a fifteen minute shower at one point or another. That is just how the sky works down there. Golf umbrellas are almost a necessity and most players carry them attached to their golf bag. Some even take that opportunity to advertise their business with their golf umbrella. The fact is golf umbrellas are very much a part of the game and almost become another club in a players repertoire.

Promotional golf umbrellas are a big business as well and many players use them from time to time. However companies like Callaway and Nike use their promotional umbrellas for all golfing events and allow you to buy them to help show off their team pride.

How To Choose A Golf Umbrella

In this article we’ll take a look at which golf umbrellas are out there on the market. What should you consider when buying one? What kind of a price range are we talking about? And what exactly qualifies an umbrella to be called a “golf” umbrella, anyway?

I like to think about what kind of an image I want to project. Do I want it to be a bit zany (but not too much given that this is for a golf course) or do I want something understated or muted. Each have their own rightful place, and serve different personalities. And what colors do I want emblazoned on the umbrella? This is a very important thing to go over beforehand. For instance, if you already have a red and a green version, then try to get something in an entirely different color or design.

Also think about your budget. If you want you are certainly entitled to spend upwards of $150 or more for golf umbrellas, but most people are probably not thinking in that range. Of course there are luxury items in each category and class, including this one. Plus, it is fun to show up your golfing buddies, isn’t it.

My definition of solid golf umbrellas are ones that will hold up for a long time, under a lot of different weather patterns. This is not just something that you daintily hold in order to protect yourself from the sun. Chances are it will get thrown around, knocked out of the golf cart. It will get dirty and will at times take some serious poundings from the Heavens. So it is worth it to spend an extra $10 in order to get something that is not going to collapse (or at least begin to) the first time rain drops hit it.

Logo Golf Umbrellas

Basically what we are talking about here is a sturdy piece of equipment, which is built and designed by an engineer with some clue about things. That is my bare minimum. I don’t think you really have to go beyond this, except to get the design that you really want if that is the case. You can however get whatever logo you would like and advertise your business. But make sure that your umbrella can stand up to at least a dozen hard storms before it begins to wear down. Such as is used with beach umbrellas. The durability of a beach umbrella should match that of a golf umbrella. And beyond that, happy playing and may you stay dry! Shoot a hole in one for me this year.

Brand Name Golf Umbrellas

Many golfing companies have umbrellas to promote their brand. Nike has a great stake in the golf umbrella market. Callaway golf umbrellas are also popular among branded golfers. Large corporations like to use golf umbrellas as a way to advertise their business because many corporate workers are avid golfers. Golf is a sport that many business men do for not only fun but to talk business at the same time. It is a way to learn about a person and also discuss legitimate business deals.
