63Four Easy Steps To Achieve A Proper Golf Swing
Golf is my passion. I've been playing this great sport for over 10 years now. Last year I came to a point where I couldn't improve anymore. Breaking 80 was the hurdle to conquer. When I had a good round in a tournament my swing suddenly fell apart and the result was a triple bogey or more. Or I missed short puts and hit chip shots fat. My golf game was controlled by fear and anxiety, I couldn't control my nerves, even suffered from a heavy putting yips and sometimes chipping yips.
Here's what I tried to lower my score:
buying the latest driver and new irons
reading hundreds of different tips in golf magazines
hitting hundreds and hundreds of balls on the driving range
- playing more tournament
And the result: My score didn't drop at all! My handicap even went up and I lost more and more self confidence.
I started analysing my patterns using a handicap tracking software and started studying mental golf training techniques. All together I came up with a four step plan which helped my finally and constantly breaking 80.
Here's my four step plan I used to achieve a consistent and proper golf swing, cure the golf slice, get an effective short game, reducing three-putts and develop the mental skills to play my best golf in tournaments:
1. Analyse your golf rounds. Make a note for each misshit and write down the number of shots around the green (for chipping and pitches) and the the number of putts.
2. Watch a golf swing video from your favorite golf pro or PGA professional. You can find below a Tiger Woods golf swing sequences. More pro golf swings can be found on golfdigest.com/sequences.
Study the set-up position, the top of the backswing and the finish position. Now imagine yourself in these three positions.
3. Use subliminal affirmation audios to train your subconscious mind. This is the mental technique I use to achieve a consistent golf swing and reliable short game under pressure. Subliminal messages help to bypass the conscious mind, which is often impacted by negative thoughts. You can listen 3-4 times a week to 20 minutes of relaxing music and focus on different elements of your golf game: full swing, short game, putting and playing in tournaments. Here's the mental golf technique I use (free video and audio available): http://www.amazinggolfmind.com/hub
4. Start working with visualization techniques. The top tour players use visualization before they play a shot. This is one of the most powerful mental golf technique, but rarely used by amateur golfers.
Here's how it works: See yourself in the set-up position, hitting the ball and visualize the flight of the ball and where it lands. It's important to have watched the golf swing video of your favorite pro before you do this.
Using these four steps will help you to lower your score significantly in a short time frame. There's no need for buying tons of golf swing teaching aids or the latest golf equipment. The four steps above will make you to feel more relaxed, curing fear and anxiety, playing more golf rounds in the zone and enjoying every round of golf.
