One of the most common faults which most beginners make while learning to play the game of golf is they look up, when hitting the ball. This is bad as it is counted as a stroke and adds up to the mark, even when you have not really hit the ball, and it is easy to think what damage it does to your final marking. It is important to always look down until after you have hit the ball and to make sure that you do stay down until after the hit, keep your hips properly rotated. Keeping your hands extended while you are swinging has been known to benefit numerous beginners. One trick to do is to count till five after you have strike the ball, as this can help you looking up too early and with your pace too.

Beginners learning to play golf also miss the many a putts. To be able to stop making this repeated error is to focus on the top of the ball while standing on the putting posture. If you are not looking directly down, you are likely to miss the appropriate strike and your ball will veer off in an unwanted direction. You could be continuously repeating the act of putting unless you develop the skill of focusing down straight at the ball while putting and hitting it into the hole.

Many novices learning to play golf also incline to have a trouble with the ball going into the sides of the green, instead than straight ahead. Though this may seem to be a complicated problem to solve, but it is easy to overcome provided you are patient about it. The first thing you always need to keep in mind is your posture so if you are not standing appropriately before you even swing the club, you are not going to have a successful stroke. Remember to carefully study your posture before you learn even to swing. In case your club does not touch the ball on its center, steps back a bit to ensure that the side of the club does not hit the ball. This is one of the biggest things that will throw a ball to one side of the green or another so ensuring you have a solid, square swing will help your ball go to the preferred location with a bit of practice.

Hooking is one of the other most frequently made mistakes plaguing beginners, which is tough to learn and to master. Many players can't master the right posture, which make the ball hook or some player’s grips the club improperly, which cause the ball to veer off. Hooking can be avoided if you get your posture right and avert holding the club too tightly. Of course, once you have started making adjustments to your stance or even your grip, you need to practice a bit to better your skills.
