Good day people, how are you?
This is the voice of raison d'être speaking from a tired soul.
Are you done with your killing of the youth?
Your ways are continually in my mind as I try to reason
why you commit carnage against your own kind.
Women who are strangled by platitudes written by overbearing men
held as slaves within a home of discontent.
Children who have the inalienable right to free education are trained
to chant these same platitudes of intolerance against not only other men but against their
own mothers who had given them birth!
Do not think that I am not also thinking of other men who
look down on the infidel of their own creation who believes
in another form of religion not like unto their own.
They preach tolerance and acceptance while sending bombs and missiles
to the darkened region of humanity where uneducated mothers
are held low killing them and their babies while saying it was
for the uplifting of democracy and liberty disregarding the fundamental
freedoms of justice and peace which is the foundation of freedom protected by a universal rule of law.
All men have the right to life, liberty, security of person and the right to effective remedy
which is a common standard of achievement in society today that is
obliterated with every missile and bomb along with babies held in mother’s arms as she
hides in palpable fear.
Men have the right to freedom of speech and belief along with the freedom from fear and want decreed by Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
It is not a right to make bombs or bullets for the killing of defenseless children, women
or any man.
I ask you how an educated man or woman can defend the act of war unless it is
for no other reason than for defending against an invasion by a malevolent force upon one’s own lands.
How is sending a missile onto another across various borders to be justified in rule of law
when the offender has no justification for doing so?
Valleys of blood and mountains of hate have been made by men for long time passing.
Will the Earth need to shake as a wet dog to awaken you to leave go of these things that
take place in the corners of pious boundless covetousness and tyranny?
Will those who strive to make others bow to their beliefs never give place to reason and tolerance of the many who believe not or have their own culture and Gods of their own choosing?
I fear Mother Earth’s response to mankind soon to exterminate all who live within her grace.
Perchance then the world will have lasting peace the way the foundations of this Earth
had been laid so long ago.

Hey dohn. Thanks my friend. We just need the people of the world to wake up and do something. The powers that be won't unless the people rise up against them in one voice, peacefully of course. Not like the BS that went on in the 60's and 70's. We must voice our opinion and rights to our politicians and tell them if they don't do it we will get someone else who will.

Sad, so sad...the frightening thing is that Earth may very well have her revenge one of these days.
I do believe that the president has instituted a withdrawl plan for Iraq. I am pretty sure that plan has been put into action as units leave and are not replaced. However, a controlled withdrawl is best to protect our soldiers that are over here. Yes we are leaving this country, as far as Afghanistan goes I don't know. Personally, I hope this conflict ends before my year back home expires and I have to come back.

Yes Wesley. I guess we have a plan on departure soon. That is good news. But when they first talked of it I said to friends the troops would just be sent to Afghanistan. Sure enough now the advisers are all requesting double forces to be placed there. Obama is testing the political wind I think before he commits. Great message, ralwus! What holds us to these old ways? We here on HubPages have found our neighbors in every corner of the world. How is it our leaders cannot accomplish this? How is it that they find peace unattainable? Do they only live for greed and power, attempting to drag us down with them?
I am sick of it. I am a troubled citizen, walking with you. We need to find the path of love. I agree, if someone attacks, we defend...but fighting just to show how tough we are is unreasonable. Seems the act of a bully, to me.
BTW: Can you tell I love your poem and it has affected me greatly? :D

We live in hope ralwus...we all live in hope...that one day in the near future many people from all parts of the world will lift up their voices together and what they say will be so forceful and loud,and speak the horrible truths that some drastic changes will just have to be made.
I do not think the power to make the changes lies just with our leaders but with each and every one of us.
