Good Diets That Work
55Many people are looking for a quick fix when it comes to dieting, they want an easy diet that works fast. The truth about finding good diets that work is that they are not supposed to be quick. You can achieve the results you desire from almost any diet as long as you are sensible about your diet plan. Fad dieting and trend dieting are not always the way to go and one of the most important things to remember for anyone who wishes to lose weight is that you should not take the yo-yo approach.
Diets that work for you
If you are going to start a diet you need to consider a few factors before you decide on what diet is going to suit you. There are so many different diets that you should do your research first and choose a diet that will fit in with your lifestyle. Your first step should always be to consult your doctor on the options that are available to you. If he or she advises you to stay away from a certain type of diet you should take that into consideration rather than just trying the latest diet trend. The problem with dieting trends for example, the most popular celebrity diets at the moment is that they are not always tried and tested. Often there are no long-term results available. If you want to really find a diet that works, you need to do your research and find a diet that not only fits in with your lifestyle but that also will not be too difficult for you to stick to.
Diet considerations
Here are a few things to take into consideration when choosing a diet plan.
- How long do you plan on dieting for?
- How determined are you to follow your diet exactly?
- How willing are you to cut down on your favorite foods?
- How much weight do you hope to lose and over what time period?
The truth about finding Diets that Work
Before we go into the different types of diets that are popular today there is one thing that you should realize. Any diet can work. The one you choose will work, the one your friend or sister chooses will work. So yes, the diet you choose is important, but not because of the type of diet but because your success is entirely dependent on how well you can stick to the diet you choose. That is why it is so important for you to pick the diet that will be easiest for you to follow. If you are sure that you can cut out carbs entirely for a set period of time, then a no carb diet may be for you. If on the other hand you are unsure of your own ability to follow such a diet, then more than likely it is not they diet you need.
Diets That Dont Work
The problem with many of the fad diets today is that even though they may give the desired results quickly, they are far to restrictive in what they allow and many people fail to lose weight because they are unable to resist temptation, when these types of diet require a significant reduction in certain types of foods or even food groups. When someone dieting fails to lose weight it is almost always due to an inability to stick to a demanding diet that is just not suited to the individual. If for example you love meat, then choosing a diet like the macrobiotic diet which is generally a diet that requires a large intake of fruit and vegetables with little or no meat included, this would be a very bad choice for you personally, you would be putting yourself under immense strain and increasing the chances of your diet failing due to the temptation of the “forbidden food” that you are so fond of, however a macrobiotic diet is a diet that does work and is perfectly suited to a vegetarian or someone who would not necessarily consume a lot of mean normally.
Types of Diets That Work
Organic diet – This diet involves switching your regular food for mostly organic foods that are free from pesticides etc. This is a healthy diet plan as it encourages an increased intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and does not require you to cut any type of food group.
Macrobiotic diet, primarily a vegetarian diet, it is a diet that focuses on high fiber and low fat. Meat is rarely featured but some fish is allowed.
Low carb diets – Diets like the Atkins diet, these types of diets focus on a low intake of carbohydrates, these types of diets are slightly controversial, consult your doctor before you decide to start any diet that requires you to cut out one of the food groups.
Dieting for Life – this in my opinion is the best type of diet, but generally not the most popular, diet for life is simply a well balanced diet, eating everything in moderation, while taking regular exercise.
About Diets
As I have said before any diet will work, but you should take note that even though a diet may seem ideas, fad diets are not always long term successful, more often than not, going on an extreme type of diet for a prolonged period of time, as in a diet that has very strict requirements to cut one of the major food groups out entirely, will work short term, if the dieter can stick rigidly to the diet, but, because these diets are not designed, nor healthy to keep on for a long period of time, the restricted food group will have to be reintroduced at some point and this often causes the weight to return.
If you really want a diet that works, long term with no side effects and no added stress that will keep the weight off for good, then the absolute best diet you can do is a diet based on a healthy eating plan, a trained nutritionist can work with you to come up with a tailored healthy eating plan for you that will in the end be much easier for you to follow, much healthier for your body and much more
