38 Million Americans are either hungry or on the brink of hunger. And yet many large Grocery Store Chains are continuing to put food that could be used into dumpsters. Its really a crime how much food that could be used to feed hungry people continues to be put into dumpsters. And many Grocery Store Chains have went as far as to post no trespassing signs on the dumpsters as well as welding the doors shut on dumpsters. How can this possibly be right. So we have decided to take action. We are starting a grass roots movement to call upon the Grocery Stores of America to stop throwing food into dumpsters.

Tonight we took a truck load of food most of which we took from Dumpsters from behind Grocery Stores to the local shelters here in Shelby NC. Below you can see photos from the dumpsters and photos of the truck after we got it loaded. We are trying our best to make a real difference and you can help us by going to the top of this hub page and click the link there asking Americas Grocery Stores to stop putting food into dumpsters. Greed is the only reason the food is put into dumpsters. There are federal laws in place that would protect the grocery stores if they would give the food to organizations working with the hungry. They could help to feed tens of thousands of people daily but yet they throw the food into dumpsters. Why? Yes why indeed.

When we pulled up in front of the homeless shelters tonight there were many hungry people who came running up to the truck asking for food. Men , Women and Children. Its really sad that in one of the richest countries in the world we have all these hungry people.

But you know what. You can make a difference. Theres several ways you can help.

1. Go up to the top and click the link and sign our petition. Our petition asks Americas Grocery Stores to stop putting food into dumpsters. Once you have signed it copy the link for the petition and send it to all your family and friends. Ask them to sign it and do the same.

2. Go to http://peoplehelpingpeopletoday.org and get involved in one of our many projects there. Donate to help feed the hungry. Join our Box Project.

3. Next time your in your local grocery store ask for the store manager and tell them you want them to stop putting good food into dumpsters.

4. Buy a few gallons of milk and deliver it down to your local homeless shelter.

5. Volunteer at your local homeless shelter or soup kitchen. Take your children down and serve a meal to the people there.

6. Start a food drive for non perishable foods and deliver it to your local homeless shelter or soup kitchen.

7. Try every day to make a differnce in some ones life. If your a Christian read Matthew 25 31-46 and get all your fellow Christians to read it to. If your preacher has never preached from these verses encourage him to do so.

8. Consider sending a donation for stamps , postcards and envelopes to help us in our fight to end hunger in America.

Its sad that corporate giants like Walmart throws away enough food in a day to feed a small American City. And some grocery store chains weld the dumpster doors shut to keep out the dumpster divers trying to reclaim the food thrown into the dumpsters. If we came together as one these grocery store chains would have to change their ways especially if we can get together enough people to hurt them in their pocketbooks. Imagine if for one day no one went to shop at Walmart. What a statement that would be.

What can you do you may ask. Well I will tell you. Go to the top of this Hub Page and click the link for our Online Petition and sign the petition asking the grocery stores to stop putting good food into dumpsters. Ask all your friends and family to do the same.

If we can all get together and do this we just might make a real difference and quite possibly change the world for good.
