Good Newborn Puppy Care
64
People
quickly realize that their beautiful newborn puppy
needs more attention than their full-grown dog. When puppies are only a few
days old, they will be taken care of but their mother, but after that it quickly
becomes your responsibility. Soon, after buying all the new puppy clothes, you
will have to start caring for your newborn pup-yourself.
Pups left to fend for themselves can get into some trouble. People unaware of
what they're doing could unknowingly deprive their puppy of nutritional or
physical needs. Beginners should consider having help caring for their puppies,
such as a close friend or family member. If you choose not to do that, just
make sure that you study up on puppy care. Good newborn orthopedic dog beds are a great addition to the new set up as well.
Your
Pup Needs The Vet
When the puppies are only a few weeks old, it's very important to make sure
they get in a good checkup by the vet. It's the perfect time to make sure that
the puppies are in great health, and sold or adopted out. Make sure that you
ask your vet about what they would recommend to make sure your puppies are
extremely healthy, and have the best life possible. You can read all the books
in the world, but it's always best to ask an expert.
Vaccinations
It's important to know that
the vaccinations aren't something you'll want to skip out on. The first thing
to consider is that you should be sure and deworm the puppies for hookworms and
roundworms. This should usually be done between the ages of two weeks and when
the puppies are four, six, and eight weeks old.
It's important for the puppies and the people they come into
contact with that they get their first round of vaccinations at about seven
weeks old. If you decide to give away, adopt out or sell the puppies at eight
or sixteen weeks, it's important to make sure that you're done your part in
checking to make sure that the issues are all dealt with. You should double
check and make sure that your vet looked or is looking for demodectic mange,
eye disorders, cyptorchidism, hernias, and heart murmurs.
Now that you know more about puppy care, you're ahead of the rest of the pack
and can get yourself a bit more prepared. There's nothing wrong with being
slightly worried when it comes to puppy care and if you're ready to take care
of them. When they come, you should have no problems about it that it's not
hard and you'll quickly settle into a routine.
