Lets talk about the News
Not the Local news. Not CNN, no Finance, not Doom and Gloom, lets talk about the REST of the News that happens.
In the book Community: The Structure of Belonging by Peter Block, he talks about how the news reinforces the negative images in communities. Showing only the Stock Market Crashes, the muggings, the killings, how the economy is suffering, etc.
I want this Hub to be a counter to that tendency of the Mainstream News machine to show the sordid and underbelly.
So I am looking for articles, links, comments, to positive news items. Ones that show people helping other people, ones focusing on Not-For Profits helping out, ones show people being Humans and not just focused on themselves.
This is what I want to show here. The Good News.

So is the mainstream American media striving to finish off the US? Not really a rhetorical question, with their focus on only the bad, scaring the populace and spurring fears, especially in the stocks, banks, investment industries, creating fear and a self-perpetuating cycle of decline.
Instead let us focus on what is going right. Get away from the bad dash for what I call Monopoly Money (stocks and investments that are only real if you sell it, with risk depending on the financial advice given, etc.) Get away from the lack of decorum and back to just being sensible.

As the evening news was on, once again there was put in my mind how horrid the conventional news is. Not only that but our city of about 100K population does not even have its own television station as it is. So time to figure out a way to do all internet news for my local area because, even if no news is good news in some respects, I just want to have good news from now on.
LOOK FOR THE GOOD I ask, LOOK FOR THE GOOD
It is time to discard the old Meme, embrace the new ways of doing business and look towards the future, not just what happened last week.
So remember
Only The Positive
A Realistic Outlook
I hold to a Realistic Outlook. Oftentimes it is not the brightest, the cheeriest, but it looks at theworld and life in a realistic manner. Yes things happen, but with a little planning, some prudence, not over reacting too badly, it will all work out just fine.
I do not need a whole lot to be satisfied. How much does it really take to keep you as a person satisfied? Then the real question is, how much more than that do you really want?
I firmly believe that there are only 4 real Needs in life. To Breath, To Sleep, To Eat and to Drink. Everything else is a Want in my world view. So once you have your needs fulfilled (adding in shelter in inhospitable climes of course) how much more, how many Wants do you need?
So then it comes to, why listen to things that do not support a realistic view. Why listen to the doom and gloom. Why over-react and sell instead of holding onto investments looking to the 15 to 20 year view instead of the next 5 minutes view.
This is looking at things in a Positive Manner.
What do you look at in a positive manner?
See there is good in the world Virginia
