Good Wedding Photos
76It only takes one or two good wedding photos to capture the wedding moment for a lifetime. Finding the right person who can take those good wedding photos can be a difficult task of its own. Traditionally, most people have hired professional photographers to take their wedding photos. But as photographic technologies advance, it is becoming more and more feasible to have amateurs taking the wedding photos. As it has become more feasible, it also has become more common. With the latest digital technology, even an amateur can see right away if the photograph taken came out perfectly, needs the lighting changed, or the needs heads in it.
Getting Wedding Photos With a Professional Photographer
When
you hire a professional wedding photographer, you usually get good
wedding photos. You will usually get mostly posed shots and occasional
candid shots from the ceremony itself. The professional photographer
has a lot of experience so things don't usually go wrong. You also know
that with a professional photographer, you will pay dearly for each
photograph.
Many people don't really like the stiff, composed, fake smile photography traditionally done by professional photographers. Most people would rather see photographs of how the wedding really was than see the typical lineups of wedding participants and the typical bride and groom poses. While you can ask professionals to do more candid shots, they will only have so many opportunities during the wedding and it isn't really their specialty in most cases when it comes to taking wedding photos.
Alternatives for Good Wedding Photos
Even before the digital photography revolution, people were starting to come up with creative ideas to get great wedding photos. One of the ideas was to give the guests disposable cameras to take pictures as they see them. Then the groom and bride can sort through an array of pictures and as incentive give special recognition to the takers of the wedding photos they cherish.
Now, with digital cameras so inexpensive and most everybody owning one or knowing someone who will lend them one, it is not so hard to get great wedding pictures for next to nothing. It is comparatively inexpensive to hand digital cameras to a few of the siblings or friends of the groom and bride and have them all taking photos, knowing that several good shots will come out of it. Typically, just about every family will have someone with at least an amateur interest in digital photography who can come up with great wedding photos.

Lafenty, I dabble in a little photography and a few friends have asked me to shoot their weddings. Since I'm not a pro, I always chicken out. I would hate to ruin their wedding memories!

Nice hub. I've shot a couple of weddings and found it very intimidating. It is so much better to have several people taking photos. That way if disaster strikes the photographer or his equipment, there are backup photos. The digital age has changed things for the better and made wedding photos much more affordable.
