Goodyear is a city situated in Maricopa County, Arizona. It is home to an estimated 47,000 residents. The Goodyear of today exists because of the cotton of the past. It was part of the 16,000 acres purchased in 1917 on behalf of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company by junior executive Paul Litchfield. Cotton used to make rubber tires for airplanes in World War I was scarce because foreign sources were in war torn countries or disease ridden. When Goodyear found that Arizona's climate and soil was similar to foreign sources, the company sent Paul Litchfield to purchase land. The small community that formed as a result of the Goodyear Farms cotton industry first became known as "Egypt" for the Egyptian cotton grown there and then, finally, was named "Goodyear."

SunCor's Palm Valley master-planned development brought expanded retail development to the Goodyear area, including a 14-screen cinema. Incidentally Litchfield Rd. has become the bastion of shopping and dining in Goodyear. Several power centers abound in the area as well as many of the major chain restaurants, such as Red Lobster, Cracker Barrel, P.F.Chang's, Macaroni Grill, TGI Friday's, Applebee's, Black Angus, On the Border, Olive Garden, McGrath's and Macayo's. Goodyear's location directly on Interstate 10 has brought several hotels to the area. The City's hospitality industry  has properties represented by Best Western, Super 8 Motel Comfort Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Quality Inn and Residence Inn by Marriott . There is a surfeit of  Goodyear Real Estate. There exist a gamut of homes including affordable homes, private homes, golf course homes and more.  The preferred  choice among real estate buyers is Goodyear Homes with Pools.
