There are many websites claiming to list the top paying Google Adsense keywords but you'll notice there are varying cpc prices. So where does this information come from? Google itself doesn't publish these statistics so how can anyone else? Also combined with the fact Google Adwords CPC changes with the popularity of the keyword most probably on a minute basis or less would make it very difficult to keep up with. Some websites are even selling the lists for around $10 but with these you cannot see what you are going to get so why would you purchase, it could possibly be randomly generated and non factual. There are other sites giving the lists for free but how much free stuff is really useful?

A theory, in my experience Google Adwords CPC goes up in price the more popular it becomes. If everyone starts to use the same top paying Google Adsense keywords after searching for "top paying Google Adsense keywords" websites then this would result in this set of keywords remaining the highest CPC. The varying prices on these top keywords sites would be just in order of date the websites were published. The CPC for these keywords would almost likely always go up because of the amount of people turning to Google Adsense to generate revenue and searching for different ways to make it work including searching for top paying keywords.

These keywords are also listed in a vast amount of adsense ready websites which can be purchased online but because the content of these websites is duplicated many times they are very rarely able to achieve high rankings on Google. So you'll need to think about the competition you would have if you did try to promote a website with these keywords in - it would actually be massive and the chance of you getting a high ranking would be extremely difficult.

Then, even if you do succeed in getting a decent ranking through content including these top paying keywords how many hits do you think you'll actually get? If these top paying keywords have been highly over rated because of promotion through these many top paying keyword websites then the actual number of people searching using these keywords would be very low. Think about it, do you seriously think 'epithelioid mesothelioma' is a much more popular search than let's say 'Bebo Skins', 'Playstation 3' or 'iPod accessories' for example?

The interesting thing is who thought of these keywords in the first place, was it someone trying to promote there website in which case they've propably retired a multi-millionaire now or was it from when the whole Google Adwords and Google Adsense started up when the keywords were actual early statistics which spiralled out of control over the past 15 years or so by website publishing these stats and people searching for them?
