Google Web Hosting Review
75Comparing Google free hosting to other free web hosting
It's tough finding good web hosts. Going with free web hosts is also not a great option since they can put intrusive ads on your website, that you worked hard to make clean and attractive.
So what's the answer if you don't want to pay for a web host? Well, not much.
Here's where Google hosting comes in. Google has Googlepages that allows you to build websites for free. It differs from Blogger in that a blogger blog is just one page. You can't really create an about page, a contact me page, an "advertise here" page, etc. You can only make one page.
What Googlepages allows you to do is create as many pages as you would like, just like a traditional website. This allows for more flexibility and creativity when creating a website.
The downside, of course there would be a downside, is that you Googlepages doesn't suport php or databases, like traditional hosts. You also can't really install wordpres on there. So it's definitely not for everybody. But if you're looking to build a simple web site, and want the flexibility to create a more traditional site for free, then going with Google's free hosting is a great option.
The whole issue with hosting, in general, is it's hard not to feel like you're getting scammed. At first, when you're trying to find a good host, you discover that you have to pay three year's worth of hosting before they'll let you sign up. Others will advertise 99% uptime, but you read on other sites that they're more like 30% uptime. And still others make you think they've got fantastic customer service, and their support people don't know anything about computers.
Of course, I'm exagerrating, but like I said, it's hard not to feel scammed. The great thing about Google's free hosting service is that you don't have to feel that way. It's free, gives you a ton of space, unlimited bandwidth, and of course, it's Google - so you've got guaranteed uptime. Man, the day google goes down, you're going to have a lot more things to worry about then your free site not getting traffic!
Examining another one of the famous search engines, Yahoo, you'll find their web hosting plans fantastic. They've got unlimited data transfer and unlimited storage. Now that speaks volumes, But....here's the catch, their customer service sucks. I mean, why have customer service at all?

My intention when I started this web hosting review site was to document various web hosts and why they suck, basically, get the dirt on them. - Google Page Creator

Will take a pass on BIG G hosting. They're controlling and greedy in everything that they do. I might even do a negative write up on them for http://www.hostreviewsource.com
There's other smaller but reliable player who provide equally good reviews. You can check out how reviewers like, Web Hosting Break, http://p.gs/avals are doing great job. I recommend my clients to check with them as well.
