On September 9^th, 2009, the Google Monopoly Game is going to launce. Hasbro has joined up with Google to go global and let the world know about its new game. The game will be called “Monopoly City Streets”. It will be an online Monopoly game played by using Google maps. The game will be a massive multi-player online game. The multi-player game is scheduled to last about four weeks to promote Hasbro’s version of City Streets.

Playing the Google Monopoly Game

To play the Google Monopoly Game, users will begin with 3 million monopoly dollars and can buy real city blocks virtually across the world. The goal of the game is to play to beat all of your friends and become the richest person. The players will be able to do all kinds of things in the game. You will have to be at least 13 years of age to play and will also have to agree to the terms and agreement rules. Below is a list of some of the things you will be able to do when playing the Google Monopoly Game:

• Build skyscrapers
• Build prisons
• Build Stadiums
• Build Houses
• Build Hotels
• Collect rent off of anything you build
• Use Monopoly cards to sabotage people by building hazards on their streets
• Players have a chance to make their suggestions about the new game by suggesting new building ideas

Expected Outcome of the Google Monopoly Game

If the Google Monopoly Game launches and is a big success, this will be a great opportunity for Hasbro to expand its brand. If it does well enough, this could open a new door of opportunity for Hasbro to have online, virtual games available for worldwide players to enjoy. At this point, it is not clear yet as to if Google and Hasbro are going to partner together.

How it will Work

In order to play the Google Monopoly Game, you will need to do the following:

• Download Google Sketchup for free
• Learn to build 3D Building models for free with Google sketchup tutorial
• From Sketchup, choose the “Share Model” option and upload your design to the Google 3D warehouse-(you must have a Google account to sign in)
• In the upload window, add the tag "monopolycompetition09" and make sure that you've checked "Allow 3D Warehouse users to contact me about this model" so we can contact you if you win!
