The Latest work from home, make money online, post links and make money phenomenon online right now is Google Treasure Chest. My curiosity got the best of me and I had to order. Now I am smart enough to read the terms of service when doing these offers. I recently had a blog entry See Post Here about just that thing. Reading the TOS now will save you headaches in the future. Sending for this CD is what actually made me think to do a post about it cause I feel most do not read them. Ordering the CD will automatically enroll you in the program so be careful. If You do order this CD be sure to use a pre-paid Credit Card, or have a way to stop the charge. I just called my bank a couple of days after I ordered it and had them deactivate the card and send me a replacement. Also you will not receive an email from them after you order, so don't look for one

Here is what I thought when my CD showed up

Ok so I got my post links to Google CD in the mail. Lets see if I can get paid in 48-72 hours like they claim. I was curious but not excited. I popped in the CD at first I thought whoa look at all this stuff. I then realized that all these files on this CD are basically useless. The CD is full of old eBooks, Software, and Web Site templates anywhere from 2001-2005 to which you have the resell rights to. I supposed if you have built a website before you can create a bunch of sites and upload these niches and try and get some sales. I would guess that from the dates of these ebooks and websites and the information on them, that you won’t get many sales. Just about all of these books and sites have outdated information. For the eBooks teaching you the use of keywords for example, still make reference to Overture.com. Overture was acquired by Yahoo in 2003. This gives you some idea to the age of the resources on the disk.

What this CD is Not.

It is not a step by step guide to anything.

It has nothing to do with Google. They let you know that on the CD

This CD has no information about posing links to Google

It is not a CD for the absolute beginner as there is no step by step guide to anything on this CD just a bunch of files.

What I believe this CD to be

This CD is full of old websites, download able software, and ebooks that are outdated and obsolete. I believe this is done in an attempt to get you to miss the 7 day cancellation period. I spent 2 full days going over the material on the CD. There are still files I have not looked at yet. The disk does get you thinking about the possibility that you can make money with some files. You can set up some simple low investment sites and see how it goes. In doing so unless your on top of things you may forget to cancel. I believe this is the ultimate goal of the CD. Do a Google search on Google Treasure Chest and at the top of the page is complaints from people being charged the $70.00

This CD is a bait and switch to get you to enroll in the Google Treasure Chest Program.

GTC is a $70.00 per month program. This program has no affiliation to Google what so ever. You can actually go to googletreasurechest.com and sign up from there. This is probably not what they want as It is probably harder to conceal the fact that it is a monthly fee based program.

For $2.95 The CD is worth getting . The reason is you will definitely pick up some new tricks or learn something you did not know before. It also show you just how the sales pages or sales pitch never match the information you receive. I plan to use the ebooks to get snippets of information to create articles to promote. With all the ebooks I can create hundreds of articles. You may find some other use for the files on the disk.

As with most make money on the Internet systems the claims are usually to good to be true. The Posting links to Google is just another hyped claim with no substance.

The goal of these internet marketers now is no longer to get you to buy the onetime product like an ebook, it is to get the residual income. They want to bill you month after month. They lure you in with a free offer to learn an old super saturated system like Google Adsense and eBay. They get your Credit card number up front by charging you for shipping. Use every trick possible to hide the cost from you. Then give you 7 days to cancel and hope you forget so they can bill you again.

Update May 30, 2009 Check out the latest landing page for this scam. Check out this link they are now making it look like newspaper articles http://www.net-newsdaily.com/?s=

This is not a real newspsper. I am from Boston and there is no such paper. I am betting they are using the same ip address reading software as the blogs so that the ad has a local flavor to it.

Honestly I am always wary of those latest schemes for making money online. More often than not they are just wanting you to pay for old info and things you can gather yourself with a few internet searches.

Everything you have said negative about this company Google treasure Chest is absolutely truth.

Some want needs to report this company as a fraud. There are many hard working individuals who do not want to be scam out their hard earn dollars.

Don't expect anything in your e-mails like they have claim after first payment. This will abe your first clue of being scam.

You are absolutely correct. I heard of this site by a laid off autoworker blog on the side of a website claiming to have made 500-900 dollars a week with two sites google biz kit and my internet payday 1.00 for one and 1.97 for the other but you had to have both to get the full payoff. I never got an e-mail back and i just cancelled hopefully i wont get charged

I signed up to recieve this kit and then cancelled my credit card soon after reading about all un satisfied people who had recieved this kit. i soon after recieved as phone call from a guy trying to get me to get involved with this company... he works for some other affiliate comapny and said he was trying to see if i would fit the profile to do this kind of work among other things. Just wondering if anybody else recieved a call from someone like this and if so what did you think of his pitch.

The only way to make money online is by selling actual product for profits. There is a great dropship company that i have had a lot of luck with that has over one million items that you can sell on ebay or they can build you your own website or both

I cancelled my subscription within the 7 days...and now i have a charge of over $70.00! I am now contacting my visa company to let them know about the fraudulent charges. WHAT A SCAM!

So here's as far as I got: Paid the 1.97 and was charged 72.21. I called my bank and they gave me a contact phone #, 866-415-2029, which ended up being a call center in the Philippines. I extracted a second phone number, which ended up being a second call center, 866-415-2029, which referenced back into itself.

They gave me a company address, which ended up being a UPS box in Wyoming.

970 W Broadway Ste. E347

Jackson, Wyoming 83001

I called the local police department, that said they had received a number of complaints about this company. They told me the FTC was handling it.

I reported them to the FTC, 877-382-4357.

Called back the second call center and told them that I had reported them, gave case#, officer, & phone. They said they'd refund the money. We'll see if it actually happens.

Just got off the phone w/my CC (Chase); their offer? Sign up for $7.99/month fraud protection. Wouldn't help with the past charges, but would provide protection going forward. Sigh. At least the fraud dept. had some useful suggestions.

Thanks good idea..... When looking to make money online, I say just use the mighty Google. You will be able to see if its a scam before investing. Take this article for example anyone who does a google search of google treasuer chest should see this article and know its a scam and will not invest.

Fraud protection is good for identity theft.

Thanks for the comment

Do not listen to these people who state this is not a scam. They are plants from the company Google Chest. The only way to get your money back is to go to your credit card company or your bank and tell them this company is a scam and you did not authorize this charge and you want a CHARGE BACK. This is the only way \I have been trying to get my money back since May 15th. I have been to the Attorney General, BBB and the FTC.. The FTC stated that everytime they track them down and get to the address they are gone. They are very good at what they do. Forget trying the upteen numbers. They give you the run around to tire you out and keep your money. It is to much paperwork and they have to prove their service or product to keep your money on a chargeback. See this ABC News Video on Google Treasure Chest Scam http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/special_reports&id=6873047That is the only way. Go to the Fraud Dept. of your bank, file a claim for a charge Back. That is the only way you will ever see your money again. But first always call a nd cancel this service or they will keep charging your credit card. That is first and foremost. There numbers are: Google Chest 888-705-1275 Grant Springs: 888-247-2155 Safe Lock: 866-879-1266 Good Luck....
