I really do not know what you are selling online but whether you are an affiliate, blogger or Adsense fanatic like I am, it always comes to one thing. Traffic! And more Traffic!

There are various ways that you can go around this:-

·        Cost per click – here is the best example where you can get poorer faster than you can get rich especially if you are beginner. Buying traffic is a precise business and if done haphazardly might hurt your pocket…deeply.

·        Generate Free traffic- I have skipped a few methods in between but this is my personal favorite since anyone can do it, all needed is the will to work a little harder. It involves doing all that you can to rank well in search engines and derive free organic and natural traffic stress free, “white-hat of course” that being said.

There are 2 methods that you can apply to go about optimizing your website and they are:-

 • On-Page optimization – this is what you do to your website within in terms of selection of meta-tags, keyword selection, image tags etc.

• Off-Page optimization. –this is what you do off the website and it involves linking to other website and having them link back. Here is why the cream of good rankings lies and to hit some good rankings you need to intensify this area. There are 9 steps or things you ought to look out for when linking to other websites (link partners) and they are:-

1. Link partners’ content - Link to ones that have content that is related to yours, doing otherwise will not get you penalized but you will not get much out of it.

2. Number of link partners - The higher the numbers of links to your web site the better.

3. Google PR of the Page linking to yours - The higher the Page rank, the better.

4. Title of the page of the link partner - If the title page of the link partner is closely matches to your keywords the better.

5. Anchor text used - This is what visitors in the other person's website will have to click to land on your page. It should bear the title page of your website or rather your keywords.

6. Outgoing links on the link partner website – These are links to other websites and the less they have the better

7. Total number of links from link partner pointing to your website - The more the links to your web page the better.

8. Are your link partners deemed by the Search Engines as "authority website"? - This is how the search engines deem your link partner, is it an important website? If you link to an “authority website” the better.

9. The IP Address of the link partner - The higher the number of different IP linking to yours the better.
