65Search Engines Sometimes Don't Work
Have you ever had difficulty finding something on your search engine? I have a few tips that will help you the next time you use google search engine.
If your looking for free mp3 for example you'll be tempted to write on your search engine:
free mp3
The search engine is going to look for all the free mp3 words together and seperately, as the space that exists between free and mp3 is going to be treated with the logical "and"...
to limit your search to these two words you can do this: "free mp3" ...
Your search results will reduce drastically.
If you are having a hard time finding what your looking for you can always use googles advance search, that will help, but may not be sufficient to solve your problem.
Adding more words to your search may help, if you add a + sign just before your keyword, like this +free mp3, google will add stop words to your search (stop words are words that google ignores)
You can also exclude words from your search, imagine your looking for mp3 but you want to avoid free, you write down: mp3 -free in your search ... the search engine will look for all sites containing mp3 that don't mention the word free...
You can also ask google to use your keywords or synonyms by writing ~ , if your write ~writer, your search engine will look for keywords writer and all its synonyms...
You can also get a wild card in a phrase as a keyword, you are looking for the following:
"Winning * players" it'll be looking for sites that mention phrases like winning tennis players or winning soccer players...
Another useful tool is looking for pages that are linked to one, ... I'll explain, imageine you have a webpage: www.estadogoverno.com and you wanto to know what pages are linked to yours ... on your google browser you can type: link:www.estadogoverno.com and it'll show you all the sites which are linked to yours.
You can also browse through url words, if you want to see all the sites that have the work rmc in it you'll just have to write the followin instruction in your google browser: allinurl:rmc and the result will be all sites which include rmc in the domain name.
Hope these few tips help out. Good luck.
