Google is not just your average search engine, Google is a way of life. Google is something you live not something you do. Honestly how did the world exist before Google. Google is a technology innovation more than a word it's a world of possibilities. I would be willing to be you that there is more that you do not know about Google than you know. Here is a list of things you most likely will be shocked that Google offers just to help make your everyday life a little bit more convenient and a lot more productive. Believe it or not this hub doesn't cover all that Google has to offer so for that I guess I will need to write another hub on some of my other favorite Google things.
Search Locally
I love this because I can type in my city and state then what I am looking for like a store or restaurant then Google will bring up a map to show me the nearest location I am searching for. Google will give you the option of a map, a review or even contact information.
Show times for your local Movies
Just type in "movies" or the name of a movie google will bring up your results and your area map if you save a loction in maps. This is so genuis!!!
Local or out of State Real Estate
Just type in "home", "housing", or "real estate" and your city or a U.S. zip code Google will bring up all your area listings!
Take a Trip Google Trip Plan
Area Code Look up:
Locate any U.S. loction of a telephone area code just type your three digit area code in and Google will bring up a map of the location anywhere in the U.S.
Check the Time -Almost Anywhere in the World
Type in to the search box the word -time and then the name of the city now hit enter.This will alow you to check the time in almost any city in the world! Cool hey?
Check the Sports Scores or Schedules
Just type in the team's name or league's name in the search box and hit enter. This brings up information for many leagues including the Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, National Football League, and National Hockey League.

Keywords
Keyword or Synonym Search
If you want to find a word term as well as synonym that can help a lot with a difficult word just type ~ right before the word you are searching ideas for and Google will bring up some help. This is Genuis!
To see a Dictionarydefinition for a word or word phrase just type the word "define" then a space, then the word. Then hit enter Google will bring up all the information you need.
Spell Checker
Google’s spell checking is awesome! Just type something in and if it is not the most common spelling Google will bring up the result "did you mean" with the most common spelled word.
Cool Tools
Google Book Search is simple- you just enter the name of the author or book title into the search box and Google return any book content they hjave on the book.
Simply enter the calculation you want an answer to and Google's automatic calculator function will bring up the answer immediately. Example 1+1= then hit enter Google will answer this for you!
Convert Units of just about anything
In order to convert between many different units of measurement of height, weight, and volume among many others type in your conversion and hit enter. Very handy for cooking too.
Check any earthquake in any area type in "earthquake" then the city and state or U.S. zip code. Earthquake activity around the world just type in "earthquake".
Check Any Public Data
Type "population" or "unemployment rate" then the state, county or city. You can compare different places. That is so awesome!
Profiles
If you are looking for anyone just type in their name and maybe like the state you knew they lived in or even an email address to see what information matches you can even search for yourself everyone I know does this lol.
Airline Info
Just type in the name of the airline and the flight number into the search box. Typing in the name of the city or three-letter airport code followed by the word "airport" will bring up a list of delays and airport information.
Convert Currency
Google has a built-in currency convertertype in the conversion you’d like done and Google give you your answer.
Helpful Maps
If you are trying to locate anyplace anywhere in the world just type in "map" US zip code or any name of any world loction and google will bring up your map. I love to type in my address and then at the top click on search nearby then tyep in things like pizza this is a very helpful tool!!
Refine your Query
Plus (+)
If you are looking for a secific term and Google omits it try typing a plus sign + in front of the word.
If you want to find information that is common information to another site, just type the word "related:" followed by the webpage address.
Fill in the Blank
This is cool if you add(*)asterisk you can get Google to ‘fill in the blank’ at that part of the sentence or question that you wanted answered.
Search Number
Type the tracking number for your UPS, Fedex or USPS. package Google will return your results.
Check a Patent Number
For U.S. patents, enter the word "patent" then the patent number Google will return the results.
Check a Stock Quote
For market data for a company or fund, type the ticker symbol into the search box. On the results page, you can click the link to see more data from Google Finance.
Check the Weather
Just type in any U.S. or cities-worldwide, type "weather" followed by the city and state, U.S. zip code, or city and country Google will bring you the results.
