Google and Jotspot Deal
- GoogleJot?
Yep, but looks like Om didn't get the scoop this time: - TechCrunch Coverage of Wiki Collaboration
Google’s office strategy just got a whole lot richer with the announced acquisition of the wiki based company Jotspot. - FAQ from JotSpot on the acquisition
This covers the questions, but doesn't give great answers like what the heck did Google pay for this wiki thing.
JotSpot aquired by Google
No word on what Google paid for JotSpot, but most likely well under $100 Million. With this acquisition Google is officially in the wiki business. This will most likely be integrated into the suite of productivity applications Google has been assembling.
The rumor several months back was that Yahoo was making a play for JotSpot. Obviously, it never worked out. So, now that Google is officially on an acquisition hot streak, who is next. I'm guessing video conferencing services and a presentation application (like powerpoint) are on the acquisition map.
