Here is another one of those interesting Google Map things i promised to post. Although this one looks like the landing pad for an alien space ship, it's actually a very large scale art project called "Desert Breath" that was done by a diverse group of artists known as D.A.S.T made up of sculptor Danae Stratou; her sister Alexandra, an industrial designer; and architect Stella Constandinidis. They started the work in 1995 and finished it in 1997. The scuplture covers 25 acres and it is slowly fading in time. I'm not sure if the photo is recent or not, but the sculpture seems to be holding up.

Hi, Hedgeek, I really like the way this page brings so many cultural elements together. The art project is so interesting and remarkable in finding its way into Google Maps. Regards, Cory

Hey there Guru, I felt the same way when I learned about the project. It's really remarkable that Google Maps was able to capture it before it went back to the desert.
