The Google Talk gadget seems to be adding new features at a faster rate than the actual windows client these days - today they launched a new multiple user chat interface. The feature is a bit awkward due to the gadget-only functionality, but once you are using it, everything seems natural.

Multi-user chat was hinted at in April through the "Google in your language" initiative - but it was unclear at that time how the feature would actually manifest itself.

It is a good one if you are chatting frequently with a number of friends or clients at the same time. This feature is available in Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger. The only problem with this new feature is not available in Google Talk window rather in the Google Talk Gadget shown, which we can use in the web only. When you double click the contact you will see the friend or client tab and there you will see "Group Chat" and then you can invite other friends to talk in the group. They will be getting a link to chat online in the web.

This feature is not available in both the Google Talk Client as well as in GMail. Hopefully Google will add this feature there also. The contact will receive a message link as shown below, and once they click Group chat, it will take them to web chat area of your Google Talk gadget online.

Ok double click the name in the chat area, you will see a tab, then you can click the "Group Chat" under the bottom of that name. You can then invite. It is not easy as Yahoo but still a good one :)

Yes, I think they will add this soon in the desktop one also. This will be good to speak with family and friends at one place. This one is good for online group chat, where they won't need any desktop messenger or program.
