Google's Amazing Features!!
67
I have to say that I am so amazed by Google! Here are just a few of the awesome things that I have discovered:
Gmail: Gmail absolutely, hands down is the best email out there. You no longer have to sort your emails into folders. When you send an email, even if you received 10 responses, and you send 10 replies to those responses, the initial email and ALL of the responses and replies are in one spot! So if I send an email on Tuesday, receive a response on Wednesday and then reply on Thursday, all of it is in one spot. I don't have to sort through my email trying to find what I'm looking for.
The search feature is set up so well that you literally never have to sort your emails again. If you are looking for an email from "John Smith," simply do a search for "John Smith" and you get every email to/from or about John Smith instantly.
You can mark emails as unread, or you can put a star next to an email. I use the star feature for emails that I have read but need to respond to.
Unlike Hotmail and other mail accounts, your deleted and sent items are always there for you to read. With my hotmail account, I had to remember to save a copy because it did not auto save my sent items.
Google Docs: This is the most awesome, free program out there in my opinion. Google Docs lets you create and save documents and spreadsheets online..no more attachnig docs to emails and sending them through. You can grant users access to certain documents simply by inviting them to view it.
So if you are on your work computer and you realize there is a document you need that is on your home computer, you don't have to wait to get home to email it to yourself. If you save it to Google docs, you just log on to Google docs wherever you are and the document is there.
The best use I have found for Google Docs is when you have to gather information for a group of people. For example, for my son's soccer teams, we often put together team rosters with contact information for the families. Rather than having to email around an Excel file (which not everyone can open) and locate all the requested changes in your email, you simply create the spreadsheet on Google docs and invite users to view it (and grant them access to make changes). They pull up the document, make any changes or additions and save it. When everyone is done...you have your completed document!
Google Calendar: I work for a law firm and we have actually gotten rid of the expensive software application we have been using for our office calendaring and all attorneys and staff are now using Google calendar. It is that good! You can link calendars together so that one person can view and/or make changes to multiple calendars. It is easy to use and visually pleasing.
For my personal calendar, I have four separate calendars that I use (which I can view all at the same time, or just one at a time--whatever I choose). For example, I have a calendar set up for each of my kid's sports schedules, one for bills and "to do's" and one for my general household calendaring items.
Google Interface with Iphone: Google's Iphone Interface is fantastic. With the click of a mouse you can access all Google applications on your iphone and keep your documents, calendar and emails organized simply and effectively.
Google has so many other great applications--Google images (great for locating images for your Hubs!), a photo application and many more. If you haven't already, I would highly recommend signing up for an account and checking it out!

Use Google all the time.
Must start using your soccer information.
Thank ytou
It seems like every time I log into my Google account they have some new feature. Today I discovered Google Apps which allows users to collaborate on projects together. That too would be a great way to manager a youth soccer team or any other team. Thanks for the comments!
I love Google, but I usually use onlyjust.net which has all Google's amazing features on one page. just make my life a little bit easier.
Thanks
