Gotta get out of these forums
72I'm a junkie
For the past couple of weeks I have been stuck in the political forums making a lot of friends, those crazy liberals love me! I have let the inner redneck come out a few times and have come close to pulling people through my computer screen to give them the beating they so deserve. The truth is we all have our takes on life and politics and what is funny to one may seem like a great threat to another.
The one thing I have learned from those on the left is they are "one trick ponies" there are no deep thinkers over there, they love to use their supposed education to belittle and it really just shows their weak positions! I have heard it all from "Bush was a dictator who tried to control the citizens and Obama is just trying to revive the economy, he should ram health care through and let those Republicans/Conservatives run around in circles!" to "Obama should replace the members of Congress and Senate with Czars of his choosing so there will be less resistance to his policies!" Whaaaaaa? To be fair the last one was said to be a joke, Uh huh!
I have to be honest there are a couple liberals who try to come at this in a comical way and they get their point across and its all good, but the others are just mental midgets with shill stamped across the forehead, I'm pretty sure they get paid per post! They constantly whine they are being attacked and threaten to report that person to Hubpages, but in reality the attack is simply a question asked that is being ignored because they have no answer.
I admit to losing my patience with a couple of kids whose only knowledge of the Military is from games they have played on a console, I said things about my own Military experience I probably shouldn't have said. I hate to think I have brought disrespect upon The United States Marine Corps and I apologize to any "Formers" who may read this! I have no excuse!
Now back to these forums, I wish I could drop in like Maven101 and offer up some comment that stops the conversation and makes everyone think and then leaves, but I have more of the bull in a china closet approach. Not always a good idea in the realm of ideas, but some of those ideas are like the ones mentioned above and what can you really say to that!
In conclusion (I always wanted to say that) I am going to try and stay away from these forums and let the experts on foreign policy and all matters Military rule the boards, their expertise at manipulation and whining can win the day!

I'm glad you thinks so Tamcor, yeah I let some of them get to me and should have just shut the hell up, but its the fighter in me that keeps going. Thanks for reading. I may ask Maven to tutor me in "social discourse" to use Ducks term! I am glad I didn't use more colorful terms that are in my arsenal of words!
Hi Tex, I just love your approach. I love the way you say whats on your mind. I think that's very courageous of you. I have been wrapped up in this political stuff lately myself. I am just not here with it. It is pretty additive though. Kind of hard to leave it alone. I say rock on!

Ah - we need both sides to keep it interesting or else we'd just be arguing with ourselves. I too am a forum junkie but have eased up a bit since writing for HubPages.

Come back, I miss you and your "take" on things. I find watching Democratic strategy types on tv so infuriating I could jump through the screen and wring their necks. Watch when you can. They smile all the time, as though they are seriously deranged .Watch and you will see what I mean. It drives me crazy, which is probably their intent.

You do have a rope on that one "one trick pony" thing Tex except you are the one doing the riding. It is obvious that you are more versed in slogans than substance. I often wonder if right wingers have any sense of human value that does not have a dollar sign attached. There is a lot more to life than the size of your money pile.

I learned a long time ago to stay out of the forums. Those guys are brutal. Also, I learned that you can't argue with an idiot because, first, they won't understand, and second, they don't know when they are beat. So Iam the idiots when I argue with idiots.
Here's a big one. How do you spend yourself out of a recession? You can't, they know it but they are still agreeing with the policies because they see more money coming their way. Follow the money, less money for corps. more for the liberals. When Obama's stimulus package is nothing but a big pork spending to liberal means.

Well, I would miss you even though I am one of those 'ignorant' Liberals. I enjoy your comments even when I don't agree with you, and as someone wiser than all of us said, there are many sides to most stories.
Just because we disagree on a lot of political issues does not mean we wouldn't have other things in common. I usually don't post much on the forums mainly because I think most posts just get lost in the long lines of writing. Maybe you like hunting, and so do I. I also like model railroading, and maybe you have some historical interest in common with me. The possibilities are boundless.
I hope you will keep on hubbing, and again, even if we disagree, I have learned that it is better to discuss and have fun posting than to get into name-calling. For every name I could call someone, there is an opposite but equal name I could be called.
So, from your more or less liberal friend, don't stop hubbing! Everybody has the right to express their opinion, so keep on keeping on! And long may we agree to disagree when necessary, and agree with sincerity when are views are the same!

It has become truly boring on the political forums for exactly the reasons you describe. The Liberals/Progressives/Democrats cannot defend their positions with logic. They resort to emotion and anecdotal evidence, neither of which has any value when writing legislation or implementing policy.

Hey Tom, It didn't take long before I got banned again. I said I hated Muslims and they said it was hate speech, I do not advocate anyone harming Muslims so my opinion of them is my own!
Its ok for people to slam Christians on this site or say they hate racists, whats the difference between what I said and what someone else said? Oh well!

They have abridged the 1st amendment in your case on this one. You have the right to say what you did but their TOS is liberal, so what else can you expect. "Let's all play nicey nice now". Frankly, the less-than-adult level of this site can be tedious at times. Although overall I really like being able to talk and meet people as I have here. So it's a two-edged sword.

They would not listen though, Now you are needed in there for balance my man, just try to keep a cool head and slow in response with well thought out words. I don't know what transgressions you are guilty of on the forums; I never go there; I would get even less done.
But, the Q&A section would then seem to be a bit of an alternative. It seems to be more "liberal" (in the classic, good sense) in that it seems you can say just about anything, and the worst that happens is that someone "votes" you down a point. If you get enough "down" votes vs. "up" votes, then your response (answer) to a "question" gets hidden. BFD, as I imagine a lot of people, like I, look at a lot of the "hidden" responses also. The downside to the Q&A is that it is NOT a forum; you can only post once to a question.
Bottom line -- too many pussies and crybabies out there. And, it's not just the liberals who are in love with Obama and have a religion where eating meat is a sin, it's also the anti-abortion conventional religious wackos as well, and "how dare you question" the supposed rantings of the imaginary "Big Brother" in the sky.
