Government Resources

What kind of resources does the government provide?
The government provides a lot of resources online for the convenience of people who would like information on a wide variety of topics from the comfort of their own home. From your computer workstation at home or in the office, you can navigate to the official website of your local government and choose to look up information supplied on:
- health care and insurance
- taxes
- foreign travel and restrictions
- immigration
- tuition or studying abroad
- financial and social support
- laws
- government funded programs
A digital revolution
How to find these resources
With the Internet, this part is really a piece of cake. From a major search engine like google.com, you would just type in your country or state of residence plus government. So, ‘U.S. government' typed in as a search field would draw up a number of results, including the U.S. government's official website.
Once you have found the official website, you can freely explore the options that are provided on the main page. So long as you choose the proper section that applies to the information you are seeking, you should have no problem accessing the wealth of information that your government has supplied for you. If you have difficulty navigating the site or require further information that isn't available on the site itself, there are email addresses and phone numbers where you can contact a member of the government with your concerns.
Another good thing about going directly to the government's official site is that you get current information that is factual and trustworthy. As opposed to relying on a blog or someone's personal website for information that may be outdated or biased.

I like the fact that you pointed out that the best way to get the most current and accurate information is to go directly to the government site.
Interesting read.

I don't really find those sites that easy to navigate either and sometimes getting a response from a person takes a while. I have been waiting a week on a response from NIH. But, good suggestions.
