Government & Society (UK)
58The Real Reason For Increases In Crime
Religion
Yes, I will start with the controversial subject of religion and how it affects society. In the UK 99% of schools teach religion mandatory. That is you have no choice, it's done. Schools do not even offer a choice of preference of which religion you would like your children to learn. There is then also the fact that the law in the UK relies strictly upon Christianity and if you go to court you are made to swear on the bible, even if you are atheist! In the UK Christianity is taken seriously by the government, it's all around us influencing and persuading us regardless of our true beliefs and without any respect for our beliefs. If I choose to be an atheist, then why should I be made to swear under oath on a book that I don't even believe in? And how can they justify that I'm telling the truth? If I swear under oath on something I don't even believe in, then there is no oath and that gives me the legal right to lie, as I am not really under oath at all. Society as a whole, in the UK, tries to push Christianity upon us unfairly, simply because it is suited to so many people and gives them something convenient to believe in. Therefore the justice system is unreliable and ironically 'not justified' They need to work out a system which suits everybody, or make them swear on a book/religion that they do believe in seeing as beliefs are everything. Most UK beliefs in Christianity come from being surrounded by it and relying upon it, it becomes deep-rooted in our subconscious and the more we hear about it the stronger those beliefs become.
Governing Regulations
Governing regulations in the UK are constantly becoming increasingly strict and this is causing the people who they should be helping the most to lose out on life. In order to attain anything in the UK you need to have a passport and full driving license, without them you will get nothing. Imagine that Bob (a fictional character!) is a UK resident. His bank account is currently £500 overdrawn and he needs to pay off his debt. Before he can do this he needs to get a job, as he has no money to his name. However, Bob is only eighteen years old and has yet to pass his driving test, he only has a provisional license. He has no money to buy a passport or to take driving lessons and pass his test. This situation leaves him with no money, no proof of identity and in debt. Because of his situation there is no help for Bob. He can't pay off his debt because he can't get any work. He can't get any work because he doesn't have a full driving license or passport, and he can't get either because he doesn't have any money. It's a no-win situation.
Banking & Finance
If Bob is left without any identification, then it is impossible for him to get his hands on any identification as he cannot prove who he is, unless he gets a replacement birth certificate which most organizations will not accept. However, even if Bob did somehow manage to get his hands on identification he would still be unable to pay off his debt or be able to live comfortably, as he wouldn't be allowed another bank account until his £500 overdraft is paid off. This makes it impossible for him to work because if he did the bank would take every penny of his wages and working would not be worth his time or effort and wouldn't provide any benefit or help for him.
What other option does he have except to turn to crime?

Yep, same here. Seems they just want to help the rich getting richer and leave the poor people stuck.
