Front of quilt

For all you faithful ones waiting to see the quilt I'm making for my granddaughter.. It is a work in progress. I have still to finish the front. Just a little edging. The alphabet and numbers one through ten are done.

This isn't much of a post but wanted to show what is accomplished so far. Will be going to Virginia the first week in August when her, sister and brother are visiting their father and half brother and fiance.

Well, it's past August... what did she think of her quilt? I think it is beautiful. What a keepsake! I have an afghan my grandmother knitted and I treasure it in my old age, lol. And my own mother knitted me a prayer shawl. I feel very lucky to have such handy women in my life.

Thanks Storytellersrus..still haven't finished it. Daughter said no rush which is good as I have been sick and things go slower. It is in the final stages though :O)It is exciting to wonder how she will react though. She is too young right now, but mom will be surprised because I am sure she didn't expect anything as creative. Just squares. It looks different than that photo as I added orange and yellow strips on the sides. Will have to add a photo of that.. My mom isn't creative, so don't know were us that are got it from, but Grammy was! She hooked and braided gorgeous rugs. Sadly, None survived that I know of.
