We have Mother's Day in May and in June we have Father's Day and we have Grandparents Day in September. Grandparents are very important in our lives. They are the backbone of our families. Grandparents have always been there for us, through thick and thin. In a lot of places, grandparents have been the parents that we never had.

Grandparents Day should be special and should be a day to celebrate with the whole family. Grandparents shouldn't have to do anything to prepare for Grandparents Day. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren can all help each other out. Each child can be given a specific task, depending on their age and every task should feel important to the children. If Grandmother comes out to the kitchen to try to help or Grandfather comes out to try to get a snack before Grandmother sees him, send them both out of the kitchen and give Grandfather his little snack as long as it won't hurt his health.

Make Grandparents Day as special as our grandparents are. We won't always have our grandparents so we should enjoy them while we have them.

I miss mine. They have been gone for almost 20 years, but the memories are cherished.

RGraf, thank you for the comment. I have only got my one Grandmother left now. She is 96 years old. My one Grandfather died before I was born so I never got to know him. He was my mom's dad. Then my other Grandfather died 10 years ago. He was my dad's dad. Then my mom's mom died about 3 or 4 years ago. I miss them all very much and cherish my one Grandmother.
