How did getting grants for school help me?

Do you know how to pay for college? My mother has always asked me this in the past because, quite frankly, she didn't know. There are four kids in my family. Two of us go to private school and the other 2 go to public. We used to all go to private school but my parents could not afford to do that anymore. Now I have secured enough money for me to go to any reasonably priced private university in the nation! I now want to tell everyone I can about how they can get grants for school.

So how did I get the money?

Well at first I thought, I could get students loans. This may seem like a good idea if you have a way to pay all the money back. Loans are not free. You must pay them back sooner or later. So I knew that wasn't going to work for me.

Then I thought about all the many scholarships out there that I could apply for. This is definitely a better idea than loans, but there is one problem. You are never guaranteed to get a scholarship you apply for. You may fill out forms for 8 scholarships or scholarship competitions and not get a dime back. Being a busy student, this would probably be hard to fit into your schedule. That being said, you should still apply for them. You may get lucky and get some easy money for school. Also, you do not have to pay scholarships back in any way. Just say thanks and take your money! Be careful though, as some scholarships require certain things like a good GPA throughout college or playing a certain sport while in college. If you do not follow these rules you will lose your scholarship. Don't like these restrictions? Well you are in luck because there is another way to pay for school.

What are grants for school?

Grants are exactly that. You are being granted access to something, in this case money. When you are granted this access, you are being given a gift. This "gift" does not have to be repaid in any way, shape, or form. It is free in the truest sense of the word. Although you have to apply to them like a scholarship, once you have applied there are no restrictions. I hate restrictions which is probably why I just love grants for school! There are also other types for grants other than grants for school purposes.

So how can you get started?

I think I have taken all the grunt work out by making this site. Now I just have to point you in the right direction. Uncle Sams Grant Money Guide is that right direction. I took a bunch or wrong turns before I found it but at least I can be happy knowing you wont have to go through the trouble I did. This site will shows the same way I got my grants for school in an easy and understandable manner. I owe this site my college education.
