Grape Pudding and a Fairy Tale

New Year's Wish

Good morning fellow breakfastpoppers. Today is Friday, January 1, in the year 2010. At last the long, long year has drawn to a close and we must gather our strength to face the many challenges that face us in the new year. Let us prepare a delightful Grape Pudding for our morning meal and then I have a tale to tell.

You will need to gather together, 1 pound of grapes, 1 cup of sweet white wine, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon ginger and 3/4 cup of ground bread. Boil grapes in 1/2 cup wine and enough water to completely cover grapes. Continue boiling until grapes can easily be pressed between two fingers. Don't stick your hand in the boiling water to test for this! Push grapes through strainer and retain the liquid in a bowl. Return the liquid to a pot and add the rest of the wine and the spices. Bring to a boil and then add the bread a little at a time. Cook until the mixture thickens into a pudding.

Let's all meet at my humble abode and we will have a picnic. No need whatsoever to hide or disguise ourselves. The King is vacationing in some place called Hawaii and all the pesky czars have scattered about the universe in search of amusement. We are pretty much on our own now and what a wonderful feeling it is to know that the castle is completely empty, Princess Pelosi is off at an undisclosed location adjusting her face, Prince Reid is trying to get people far, far way to like him again and Prince Schumer is running around trying to be seen with anybody who is anybody. Come on over when you are ready. I'll brew some tea and share with you my entire supply of vodka.

Welcome, and now sit back and relax and listen to my tale. Once upon a time in a land far, far away, something truly amazing happened. It was an event that would shake the citizenry to its very core. On the same day, at the same exact moment, common sense swept the land. Suddenly, the King could think like a King and his court could put two and two together and make four. Oh, the sheer joy of it all. Common sense pervaded every facet of life. People spoke clearly and with intelligence and purpose. Words like "alleged" were eliminated from the language. Political correctness fell out of favor and truth and straight talk replaced it. Let me give you a good example of what I mean. Right now, in our Kingdom if a man boards a chariot, without any luggage and pays for his ticket in gold and is among a group of people that tend to want to see us dead, and has stashed in his underwear explosives and a syringe, and when seated sets his pants on fire, we would call him an "alleged" terrorist.

In the land I am speaking of, he would be called a terrorist, no two ways about it. In this land, this same man would not be allowed to enter the king's Domain. They do not believe in putting people on lists "to be watched". They believe, unlike us, in arresting these people or in making sure that they never enter the Kingdom. This contrasts greatly with life in the Kingdom of Dem. We all know that the King and his men prefer to let these would-be terrorists into the Kingdom and see what they do. If they blow up the market place, killing thousands of citizens, then and only then does the King move to contain them.

The land I speak of is a Fairy Tale right now, but I believe we can make it come true in our Kingdom in the New Year that is upon us. Let's review every important issue this way. Does the solution proposed meet the test of "common sense"? If it doesn't, we must throw it out and start all over again. One word of advice, my dear friends, next time we choose a king, we must choose someone who truly believes what we believe and who embraces the common sense approach to life. Make sure he shares our values and our love of freedom and take a good long look at the company he keeps. These simple measures can be quite effective.

This is a new year and we can make our dreams come true and protect our way of life for generations to come. Happy New Year dear friends. Let's drink our spiked tea and raise our glasses high. The people shall prevail...POP...

The End.

I guess I'm first to awaken this fine morn. Another great fairy tale. I dream of the day we are truly free in the Kingdom of Dem.

This last week has been very frustrating for all of us. I don't feel safe in our kingdom. Let's try to change this in the new year.

Happy New Year to you and all your breakfastpoppers.

BPOP - I concur that the 'common sense' tide is rising rapidly and may well sweep over many of the foolishness of the past year if for no other reason that the political survival of the Princes, King, and his Czars. Remains to be seen as the Virtual and real tea parties take place throughout the year and in the coming election. With the first Tea Party in the harbor of Boston Towne we began the process of Independence and Liberty from a similar Tyrant King. The ones we hold this year may well confirm and continue the wisdom of the founders. God Bless you in the New Year and God Bless you even more for breaking out the Gray Goose!

Pop,

Nice Tail, seems to me I remember a place similar to the one you speak when I was growing up. And it’s a good day for such a tale, this first day of 2010. Since this year the entire lower court of the Kingdom is up for re-election. All four hundred and however many of them all will now try to play nice to get us to like them when they come back from their cushy holiday vacations. DON”T.

Throw every single one of these “representatives” out on their ears. And do not vote for anyone beholden to one the major political parties. There are a few exceptions to this rule but not many.

For example Lt. Colonel Alan West of Florida, Congressional district 22, is running as a Republican, but not under the republican thumb. Click on the link below to see what I mean. This guy is not even in my district, but he appears to be a fine model of the type of representation we want. He perhaps needs some more scrutiny, but this is a good start.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VP2p91dvm6M

(if the link doesn't work copy & paste into your browser)

Many other candidates will be cropping up before the November elections. Give them serious consideration before you waste your vote following that old party line. If were gonna talk the talk, let’s also walk the walk. Kick everyone of these politicians out. And lets get some real representation in a quality court.

Okay rant over. Great Hub Pop.

Good morning hmrjmr,

Your comments smack of optimism and I like the sound of it. We have to keep the pressure on, raise our voices and our concerns and bring about the kind of "change" we really want. I wish you and yours a happy and healthy new year. I'll drink to that!

First off I suggest we meet at a humble commode instead of an abode so that we can possibly flush this entire administration down the toilet! That would give us a fantastic start on the New Year. But moving right along……..

Pelosi’s face is beyond fixing. The cement dried long ago and that evil sinister smile is permanently affixed thereon. I just wonder how they were able to insert those rubber lips inside the concrete mask so as to give the illusion she is actually speaking when they play those old Jane Fonda speeches to the Viet Cong every time she appears before the public.

As far as the so called President; he finally found an effective way to silence Rush Limbaugh. Rush is suffering from what some believe to be a heart attack but what most don’t know is what caused it. It’s obvious to me the Supreme Being (not Rush the one who thinks he’s equal to Rush) most likely paid him a visit and Rush reacted negatively. Can’t say I blame him, if Barrackey Boo visited me it would make me sick also.

Reid is most likely preparing the sacrificial alter he was forced to throw himself upon in the name of health care reform. Even the people of his state aren’t stupid enough to re-elect him after this debacle. Pile the branches high Harry for the big fire!

Your fairy tale wish for common sense sweeping across the land is indeed that; a fairy tale. This evil insidious bunch banned common sense the day they were inaugurated. Socialism requires the abolishment of common sense. A logical intelligent electorate would not allow these Pseudo Saul Alinskies to have taken over. No the peasants of this kingdom sat silently by and watched the court jester (Rahm Emanuel) hypnotize them; watch the shinny object swing back and forth and repeat after me…..Hope and Change—Hope and Change—Hope and Change—Hope and Change; that’s riggggghhhhtttttttttttt!

Regarding the tourist and his chariot; remember there is no war on terror so terrorist do not exist in the Kingdom of the Bamster! All we have to do is sit down with rogue kingdoms and talk to them; like he’s doing with Iran and North Korea and Afghanistan and …well you get the picture. His imperial style of conflict resolution is certainly succeeding; if you don’t believe me just ask Israel!

We could rediscover the land of which you speak again later this year but it requires the retention of that same bunch of citizen-bumpkins to remain engaged. One only has to look at how quickly the lesson of 911 was forgotten and as such the George Soros’, Michael Mores and Saul Alinsky types were able to gain control of them through the utilization of their willing accomplices in the main stream media. I suggest we start by amputating Chris Mathew’s Tingly Leg.

Only if we can somehow keep the citizen-Bumpkins engaged can we hope to regain the kingdom. Unfortunately I believe it will take another successful 911 to permanently awaken them from their Hope and Change Stupor!

See you at the Bar; Double Johnny Walker Black on the rocks!

That is quite a good fairytale. Do I believe there are enough Americans with the intelligence to contribute to the cause and make it come true? Sadly, no I do not. We live in a nation of people who believe:

Once is a favor

Twice is a privilege

Thrice is a right

AND "you are only as good as the dollar you give them, on the day you give it". Now convert this last quote to your elected officials, " you are only as good as the vote you cast on the day you cast it" then all bets and promises are off, I'm in office now and what I think goes and what you think, well who cares? How many Americans realize that there are avenues to special elections beyond the ones that replace an official who dies in office or for some reason can no longer serve out their term. We the People can, through proper Constitutional means call for the removal of one and a special election to fill the seat. Most believe that could never really take place, I believe it could but have my doubts if "We the People" could ever over come our differences and come together to get it done.

There are 3 wars going on at this time. Let's get them straight. The US Military is at war on behalf of the United States, 1 in Afghanistan, 2 in Iraq. America is at the mall. The third war is supporting the troops and it is on US soil. It is the will of the people versus the will of big government. We the People are loosing. This is the root of "Support Our Troops"! In case anyone doesn't know, the votes cast by service members in many cases never get to the shores of this country in a timely manner to even be counted. It is my opinion there exist no votes that are more important to be counted than those coming from Americans with their life on the line second by second of every day. Selah! (Biblical, think about that). So in order to support our troops we must take that into consideration first and foremost and that includes keeping them supplied with all of their needs to win each and every fight with the least amount of killed and wounded. We must fight the good fight here while they are away, to insure when they come home they come with the feeling that they have not been betrayed by a nation that would take away the Constitution. They expect to come home to the land of the free and the land with the Constitution that each and every one of them has been sworn in to protect. I took that oath on 17 January 1969. I was never sworn out of that commitment and hold it first and foremost in my life, second only to God.

We owe it to them to keep this country from communistic rule. Think about how they would feel to come home and find that their homes had been tossed by government agency's and all of their rifles and pistols had been confiscated and it had been decided that they could not be trusted to own the very things they were required to use to kill others in the name of a country who would say they were not competent to use them for protection of home and family here.

2010 is the year we have, and actually our last chance to set things straight in regard to all things Constitutional, VIA the Ballot box. If we fail at this task in this very important YEAR 2010 it will take a revolution to restore our country. I will press on with this task and pull my weight in converting people to common sense and to forget political correctness over right and wrong. In the event the ballot box fails us, I am quiet prepared to give my life towards the good will of my fellow Americans. As once proclaimed "GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH", "DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR" "SEMPER FI". All these things as Christ said "what more can they do? Besides take your life? His meaning was, he has made us a better place so why be a coward?

Psalms 144:1 Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle.

It remains a bad thought that a lone Marine is out numbered.

Happy New Year Patriot,

A change of venue would have worked very well, had I really given things more thought. The humble" commode" is the perfect setting for the major flush job we have to look forward to. Barring that once our royal taxes kick in we will all be living in commodes, because the tax man will take our hovels away to fill the King's coffers. We must meet today at the Inn and over some good ale or a martini, plan for the coming of the kind of "change" we really want. Out with the new and in with something far better, democracy and freedom. Enjoy the day, my friend, and thank you for your exquisite commentary.

Great hub pop, I have to say that I am in agreement with 50 caliber. I am not so sure that, even in these trying times, there is enough intelligent life to actually make a stand, or at least a change. Our schools, government, and media have withheld so much of the truth that only the brave dare to dwell upon it. Belief in God and studying the scriptures only go so far, one must break free from all mind control in order to break free from the matrix and see the truth, especially in the kingdom of dem.

I too, hope that the fairy can once again become a reality, but like 50, I believe this year is probably the last shot at that happening without a revolution. Perhaps the solution is an educational site online to gather all the surfs together and teach that document signed so long ago?

Best wishes on this new year's day.

Enjoyable tale as always. It does seem as if common sense (or any sense at all) has died long ago. This crappy political correctness has gotten so out of control that if I refer to my students as "you people" one of them is compelled to say "What do you mean you people?" I always need to explain that I mean they are a group of which I am not a member--students and young people. They always laugh and say they know. I then ask why they were needed to try and make a problem of a non-issue and they don't really have a reason. Anyway, my husband just put on Toby Keith's song about us sticking a boot in the ass of these rag heads and I am going to watch the video with him. Happy New Year for all--let's be willing to fight for this country we all love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frank Sinatra sang these words,

Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you,

if your'e young at heart

Well I am way too old for that, so Mr. Pop let me just

say when it comes to alleged, I believe our 'King' or perhaps President is an alleged President, since his right to that office by birthright is still in question.. We may never know the truth, and even if someone figures it out, will it even matter? Oh to be a believer and dream my way into your land of OZ where fairy tales can come true.

With the healthcare bill looming, that is in question, with happiness, well that is to be written by Novemeber 2010, and prosperity, with double digit unemployment it will be difficult to stay afloat. BUT, we shouldn't loose our faith that we can come together and restore the things we hold dear to our hearts.
