Great Shoulder Tattoos
78Tattoos are in! And no, Joe the sailor isn't the only one wearing them. What used to be considered ungodly masculine smut is now a work of art acquired by even the most elite in the most exclusive tattoo salons. Some even look feminine and many have special meaning to the tattooee such as the Cambodian prayer sculpted along Angelina Jolie's shoulder blade. Almost everyone in their thirties and twenties has one. The punk movement, which is responsible for today's tattoo fad (especially in the hardcore, straight edge punk community), has turned ugly into beautiful once again. Many people get them on legs, arms, bellys, privates (God knows how the tattoo consumer can stand that pain or whether the tattoo artist feels like hurling during the process). For a while, it was fad to get a tattoo on your waist, then it was fad to have a tattoo on your wrist. Poppy the sailorman, other blue-collar sailors, pirates, and criminals had their cartoonish leitmotifs on their biceps. Now the tattoo placement has crawled up the arm to the shoulder. I've been thinking about getting one myself, especially on the shoulder area. However, that is a heterogenous zone and, to be frank, tattoos don't look all that sexy. It could look glam and have sentimental value like these ones:

Thanks pylos. Yes, I heard that tattoo removal hurts more than getting the actual tattoo. I'm guessing that that's the reason some people like Johnny Depp erase one our two letters of their sweetheart's name after they've broken up. Wino forever.
Thanks for the hub. I love the pics. I've only got one, but I'm getting the fever again, so more may be coming.
Well, that's one more than I've got. Good luck choosing a tattoo and remember, tattoo removal is extremely painful so select carefully.
I'm afraid getting tattoo's are against my religion, I'm a devout coward!, can't stand pain in any shape or form.
I must admit though that a nice discreet tatoo on a beautiful lady is something to be admired, then again it's probably the lady I'm admiring!
Yes, it does take a pious committment to get one. I wish they had something similar to an epidural for tattoos to ease the pain because I can't stand pain either. It's amazing that people running those places haven't thought of using numbing medication. Maybe the pain's not that bad, I don't wouldn't know, never got a tattoo and if I get one it will be small.
Yes, dainty is the key. It's a pity when someone scars themselves in order to get a tattoo that lends the appearance that they're a gang member or victim of a burning building. Thanks for commenting.
I have never liked anything for a long time. I buy beautiful jewelry or accessories, wear it a time or two and then i am done with it. It would not intrest me any more. Tatoos fascinate me so i bought a few sticking ones and sticked it on a few secret places for one or two days and now i can't even stand the sight of a tatoo. I am happy that i did not do a permanent one.
That's actually a good idea, Anamika! Unlike hair it's hard to change styles once it grows old. Plus, what if the tattoo stylist makes a mistake like curving Tyle instead of Kyle?
