Great Site Promotions
Conversion rates shouldn't be measured by just revenue transactions. Your site conversion rates could be measured in terms of new subscribers to your newsletters or a submission to Facebook, MySpace, Stumbleupon or a referral on LinkedIn. So, how do you get your visitors to click-through? Promotions.
Promotions don't have to be "You Won a Million Dollars". The prize could be a post on your blog (backlinks), free/discounted services, or an E-book. However, there are some inexpensive promotions too - like reward cards (ranging between $5-$25 dollars), gift certificates to a national chain, or a small donation to the winner's favorite charity.
Key Elements of a Promotion
- Make it fun
- Deliver what you promise
- Start small
- Be innovative
After you've run a few promotions you should see the process gets easier. Your traffic should increase and sales too, because your visitors will start directing other visitors to your site (Viral Marketing).
