Great Summer Drink - Root Beer Float
53
I tried this Root Beer Float today, it is a great drink to have during hot summer days. I found out that it is easy to make and requires only a few ingredients.
The recipe for Root Beer Float is as follows from Kroger's.
Ingredients:
- 4 Scoops of Super-Premium Vanilla Ice Cream
- 16 oz Bottle Root Beer
Directions:
Keep 4 drinking mugs for some time in the freezer until they are ice cold. Then pour 1/4 cup of Root Beer into each mug and add a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream and stir thoroughly. Add Root Beer to this mixture until about 3/4 of Glass Mug is full. Then carefully add one more scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream into each glass. Fill the gas with more root beer. Now the glasses will overflow but don't worry it will be fun to watch and drink. That's it.
When you start taking this Root Beer Float, start with the cold frozen foam, then scoop the ice cream with root beer with your spoon and drink the remaining creamy caramel colored mixture in the end. It will cure any hot day woes. One of the best drinks I ever had.
If you have had this drink before, please add your comments.

Isabella can't you guys get Root Beer in Europe? Guinness sells it here in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions. :)
You probably can get it further west... but not in central Europe. Not A&W, anyway. I dont think the natives have even heard of rootbeer... could be wrong, though. But firm vanilla ice cream is really difficult to find, its mostly soft-serve and would be yick in a float. And FRENCH vanilla (my fave for the float) Ive never seen at all!
Even if your the lousiest cook in the world, if you add ice cream to your creation, then you may have something incredible.
Maybe we can send you some rootbeer from here :). Hopefully you will have something similar there.
Thanks Bueller, I agree I am one of those :) I used to Butter Pecan Ice cream in Cereals and milk, tasted very good :)
Root beer floats remind of hot summer days growing up in California. These days, though, I prefer root beer schnapps.
Stacie, I would love to try that, sounds good :)
