If you suffer from excessive underarm perspiration, you'll know how embarrassing it can be. You are meeting someone new and you raise your arm to shake their hand. All at once you are very aware of your sweat marks under your arms and you are embarrassed.
It doesn't need to be this way. There are things you can do, to help hide your excessive underarm perspiration.
Consider the humble dress shield
These are wonderful devices. The dress shield comes in many types and materials but basically, it is an extra piece of absorbent material that is inserted on the inside of your shirts, just under the underarms.
The dress shield will not only absorb the moisture from sweat to prevent it soaking into your clothes, but will also help to absorb and hide the odour associated with excessive sweat.
No-one can tell it is there. These hide the tell-tale signs of excessive underarm perspiration by allowing the sweat to soak into the dress shield, rather than into your clothes.
Built in comfort
You can even buy clothes that have dress shields built in for your comfort. These materials are designed to be ultra-absorbent but are invisible to anyone else. They will soak up the sweat, leaving you without the sweat marks on your clothes. Clothes with dress shields built in have been designed in many different ways and are available in professional business wear as well as casual wear and sportswear.
There are options for women and men with built in dress shields in so many different designs, materials and colours, you will be spoilt for choice. Now you can look as stylish as your colleagues, without the worry of your excessive underarm perspiration showing through.
You'll never be embarrassed by ugly sweat stains under your arms ever again. You'll also save money on drycleaning bills and buying new clothes.
Disposable option
"That's all well and good", I hear you mutter. "But do I have to buy a whole new wardrobe just to hide my problem of excessive underarm perspiration?". The good news is NO! You can also buy disposable dress shields that you can place on the inside of your clothes.
Disposal dress shields will be stuck to the inside of your clothes with tape and can easily be removed or replaced.
This can be the perfect option, especially for the late afternoon business meeting, when all you usually want to do is hide because of the marks that are now on your shirts from excessive underarm perspiration all day. With disposable dress shields, you can have the added comfort of being able to replace them easily for fresh ones whenever you need to.
Disposable dress shields can also be a hygienic option for hiding excessive underarm sweat. Because you can dispose of them discreetly, and put fresh ones into your clothing when you need them, no-one will ever know you suffer from excessive sweat problems.
You may find however that disposable dress shields become expensive, especially as you need to keep on buying them.
The washable option
Washable dress shields are usually made of washable cotton and can easily be placed in any washing machine with your clothes. These are also stuck to your clothes with tape and can be easily removed and swapped during the day for fresh ones. This increases your options, especially if you suffer from excessive underarm perspiration in particular situations.
Feel Confident
The dress shield, in whatever form you find most comfortable, will help you to feel confident every day. This will help you to reduce your stress and worry about excessive underarm perspiration and will allow you to relax and get on with your life. This in turn, can help reduce the amount of underarm perspiration you feel.

Other ways to hide excessive underarm perspiration
Besides dress shields, there are a few other ways to hide excessive underarm perspiration including wearing colours and clothes that do not change colour when wet, and by changing your clothes before an important meeting. For example, if you wear a t-shirt in the car on the way to the office, your business shirt won't be soaked with sweat before you even get in to the office.
Having spare clothes and keeping your other clothes nice for when you need them most is one option that may also help you to relax. Remember the less you stress about excessive underarm perspiration, the less you are likely to sweat. Anxiety can play a big role in how much we sweat so anything that will help you relax will help you to sweat less.
When buying clothes, always buy clothes made from breathable natural fibres as man-made materials such as nylon will increase the likelihood of sweat showing through. Pick clothes you are most comfortable in and the ones you have found that work the best to hide your excessive underarm perspiration.
Consider using good antiperspirant products and following good hygiene regimes, as these will also help to reduce and hide the effects of excessive underarm perspiration.
