Unique Gifts For Valentines day

Gifts such as flowers, chocolates, lingerie and jewellery are pretty common on Valentine’s Day. In fact they are so common that people who have been with the same partner for several years may be worried that their partner may grow bored with these typical gifts. So if you are running out of ideas for Valentine’s Day or simply looking for gift ideas that are truly unique I thought I'd mention a few.

Dinner and a movie is one of the most common date ideas for any night of the year and is also popular on Valentine’s Day. You can give this one a unique twist from basically having some form of entertainment combined with sharing a meal together. One way to do this is by arranging to rent out a small museum or an art gallery after hours. You and your date can spend the evening wandering through and enjoying the exhibits. You can bring along a catered picnic dinner for the two of you to enjoy at the museum.

Another is a helicopter ride looking over the city, a ferry ride on the harbour or a hot air balloon ride up, up in the sky. These unique Valentine’s Day excursions can be expensive but they would certainly be a date your Valentine will never forget. Don't forget your camera!

A woman could surprise her Valentine with tickets to a sporting event. Obviously, this type of gift will only be appreciated if your partner is a fan of the event or the team you are going to see. Some people assume this type of gift is inappropriate for Valentine’s Day because it is not really romantic. But if you think your partner will love this gift there's nothing wrong with giving them this kind of surprise for Valentine’s Day.

On a smaller scale for a sporting husband a gift or gift voucher of some sort could be purchased for him to choose a variety of sports related goods. An expensive fly for a fishing fanatic or a team colour shirt, hat and scarf are things he would rarely buy for himself but will be happy as Larry to wear when he goes to games to support his team. There's a company that sells gift vouchers for golf dvds if you think your Valentine might like to improve his golf game.

A truly unique gift idea for Valentine’s Day is a handmade scrapbook of your relationship together. You can copy photos of the two of you throughout the relationship and arrange them according to themes or in chronological order with bubble captions for comments. (such as "I love you"). You can decorate each page with other photos, stickers, ribbons or anything that supports the theme of the page. This is a unique gift which will really surprise and touch your partner and a gift they will cherish and enjoy for years to come.

Collectors are easy to buy gifts for and you can't go far wrong for them with something unusual like crystal figurines, porcelain statuettes, ancient stone wall plaques and trinket boxes, Does she stop at the jewellers and gaze at the sparkling swarovsky figurines and point out their intricate shapes and how the light sparkles in such gorgeous colors. If she likes to collect small things, this type of gift will blow her away as they are often limited editions and she'll know they can be expensive. They'll catch the suns rays and shoot deep prism colours around the room and be a constant loving reminder of you and this special Valentines day .

Some of these are pretty expensive gifts. You don't have to spend a lot of money to show someone you love them. Can you write a poem? Upload a few pictures? If you can you could make a page on the Internet to show your Valentine you've been thinking a lot about making the day truly special for them. Somewhere like My Space or a free blog with some pictures from an online space such as Picasa or a video you might have uploaded to UTube.

It is important to remember that Valentine’s Day gifts can be anything you choose. If it pleases your partner you can give exactly the same types of gifts you would give them for Christmas or a birthday. Just because it is Valentine’s Day does not mean you have to limit your imagination to chocolates and roses when it comes to selecting gifts for your partner. Be unique!

Finally, if you are looking for ideas for a unique Valentine’s Day gift idea, why not consider simply asking your partner what he or she really wants for Valentine’s Day. It may not be the most romantic thing to do because it will ruin the element of surprise but it may help to ensure you are giving your partner something he or she truly wants for Valentine’s Day.

When doing this be sure to let your partner know he or she is free to select any gift they want and does not have to choose something that is traditionally associated with Valentine’s Day.You may also want to suggest how much you're willing to spend. This way your date will feel free to truly be honest about what they would like for Valentine’s Day.If they stubbornly refuse to think of something for you, then you are free to choose whatever you want. Be nice now.

Happy Valentines Day!
