Writers write and you can help to keep it that way

Do you have someone at home that loves to write? An Author, Freelance Writer or Poet? Don't know what to get the person with the nose stuck in a book or in the Computer all the time? Don't worry, I am here to help you out. The next time you have an occasion creeping up and you need a quick gift for your friend, spouse, child or family member that is the One with a lot "to write" you can just print out this little list of Ideas and go to town.

Stock them up on everyday office supplies!

I think all writers have one thing in common, we are so busy writing that we forget to purchase those little stables that we constantly need. I am talking about Print Paper, Rubber Bands, Stables, Erasers, Paperclips, Stamps, Envelops, Business Cards, Ink for the Printer. Here is your chance to be a hero. Why not put together a wonderful "Writer's Survival Box" and stock your Author or Poet up with all those things I named or just a few of them.

A Gift Card to his or her favorite Coffee or Tea house.

I get some of my best Ideas at local Coffee or Tea houses. The atmosphere is great and you meet the most interesting Characters. Plus it is a wonderful way of getting away from the grind for a few moments. How about a Gift Card to his or her favorite Coffee or Tea House. Gift Cards in $25.00 amounts are great.

A shopping Trip to Barnes & Nobles, Amazon or Waldenbooks

Now this can be done in real life or virtually. Let him or her know the amount you are willing to spend and then just take them Book shopping. Writers write, but a good Writer reads too. A lot!

Subscriptions to Magazines

If you want to write for specific Magazines you have to know their style and what they choose. Writers or Poets Magazines are great as well.

A Subscription to an online writing course or a Writers Association.

Gotham has some of the best online writing courses available. Writers Guild dues can range anywhere from $100 to a couple hundred Dollars annually.

A new editing or writing Program.

I personally would love to have a writing program from White Smoke, but I can not afford it. Find out the one Program your Author would really love to own and buy it for him or her.

An overhaul and update for their Writing *Machine*

Regardless if it is an old Olympus Typewriter, a Laptop or a PC sooner or later the Machine will need an overhaul and maybe an upgrade. How about helping out with the cost and the time that it takes to get it done?

Marketing Services!

If you have a talent for marketing you may just be what the Doctor ordered. How about helping out and getting your Writers Talent out into the open and help to market him or her or they Book they just published. Help to get them famous.

A Basket of goodies.

How about a Giftbasket of snacks, flavored coffee, herbal tea, fruits, crackers, raisins. You get the hint. Something you Writer can enjoy while pouring his or her soul out into the written word. My daughter makes certain that I always have a full cup of herbal tea near me with honey.

I hope you can use these Ideas. Please remember, that one of the most important Gifts you can give is your support. Show that you are behind your Writer. Getting a Writers Business of the ground is very exhausting mentally with a lot to learn if you want to do it correctly. Having a loving Support Team with you makes a big difference.

I always find that the best gift for my literary friends has been something to take their minds off writing altogether. Bought a friend of mine a kite, and he swears by it; saying that it helps hime to relax and that breeds better ideas for his writing

I just did a hub on this for the Christmas holidays and completely left off your great tip about an online writing course. I'd love one of those under my tree this year! Thanks for the additional ideas!
