Greatest Arcade Games of All Time
65Definitely My Opinion!
I know these selections will show my age, and by that, I am that I come from a younger generation, but I could not get these games out of my mind when I was a kid. Certain games, once people play them, seem to attach theirselves to that person. And, usually, a great feeling comes over them. (Even when they are losing.) Yes, there are a lot of games out there that do seem to stand out there more so than other, but there are also some game that just click for the individual as well. These picks are my own Top 5, and no body elses. I wanted to do it this way in order to spark some comments from readers to get the opinions and favorites, as well. There is nothing comparing video games to others and having to enjoy a great debate as to why your favorite is better than somebody else's. The games that I will mention are of ones that I enjoyed when I was a kid to when I was a teenager. (More so when I was a kid.) Here are my picks.
My Top 5
My Number 5 pick is a classic and I extremely loved playing until I got the highest score. Galaga. Simply repetitive, fast paced action that ran up the numbers for the score and kepy you entertained for hours. Nothing liked destroying a digitized space alien.
My Number 4 pick is a great game that I enjoyed playing when I was a kid going to Putt-Putt. X-Men. Of course, you can as one of your favorite mutants. (Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, and Dazzler.) Best thing about this was that there were 5 other joysticks to go witht he other characters, so your friends could join in on the fun!
My Number 3 pick is one I remember having to go to Chuck E. Cheese's to play. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game. Talk about having some serious fun. I was probably 6 years old when I laid my eyes on this bad boy and my best friend and I would just jump up and down and shout at the screen while we would kick some Foot Soldier butt. lol Good Times.
My Number 2 pick brought in some major revenue and for good reason. Tekken 3. My opinion, the greatest fighting game ever created! Ever character, as they all do, have their own unique fighting style. But, with introductions of characters such as Jin, Hwoarang, and Eddie, brought the game to an all new level.
And, my Number 1 pick is another classic. Pacman. You cannot have any Top 5, 10, or whatever without including Pacman. Great game. A lot of entertainment with high scores, levels, eating ghosts and fruit, and trying to get all the little dots. Main reason why it made my list, though, was because if it was not for Pacman, we would not have other great arcade games. Period.
This is my Top 5 and, yeah, there were some that did not make my list, but enjoyed playing. Two of them were Time Killers, made in 1992, and Marvel vs Capcom. I hoped that you enjoyed reading my selections. I cannot wait to read the comments.
