Funny Gag Gifts-Have Fun With Farts and Bingo
78"Fanny" Bank
I was going through my mail the other day and found I had received a Harriet Carter catalogue. For those of you who may not know, Harriet Carter has been selling "distinctive gifts since 1958". It sells many household and garden gadgets that make life easier...or is just sooo cute you can't live without it!
Imagine my delight when I found the "Fanny Bank". Not only do I get a savings bank, but I also get a bonus rude sound maker. I just can't wait to start dropping some coins into this bank. I love the slogan, "Add more loot, hear more toot".
Saving is Such a Pain in the Fanny!
Steam Inhaler
Here is a must-have item for anyone who suffers from allergies and nasal congestion. This amazing device clears your nasal passages without the use of drugs! I can just see myself sitting down to movie with family and friends while using this amazing product.
So much more appealing than the sniffles!
Butler Bath Set
Always wanted a butler, and never could afford one? I know I have. Now you can get your butler, however, he will only serve your toilet. Sit on his head for revenge!
Don't wait for this guy to answer your door!
Neti Pot
That's right, it's cold season. Don't you wish you could just rub on a magic lamp and ask the genie to loosen up those clogged nasal passages. Well, here is an item that is almost that easy! (Just don't drown yourself accidentally.)
Wish your nasal congestion away!
Bingo Masks
Love playing Bingo, but don't feel as if you fit in with the crowd? These masks are just what you need.
Bingo!
Farting Slippers
Last, but not least, farting slippers. Now no-one will be able to tell if it was you or your slippers. Fart out loud!
For a Farting Good Time!
My children and I were rolling on the floors with some of the comments these items generated. If you want some inexpensive fun, look through the Harriet Carter catalogue next time one unexpectedly shows up at your home!

Hahaha Nice hub k@ri! I like the butler one the best! I just might buy that one:)
I don't know, multimastery. That's one place I don't like the feeling that someone is staring at me! ;-)
I kinda like the Bingo masks...but somehow I'm thinking you'd be escorted out if you tried to wear them to an actual bingo game. I'm guessing it's more of a Halloween thang. :)
Proud Mom, Multimastery & KCC Big Country--I've been out with the kids for Valentine's Day. Thanks, Thanks, and Thanks! I agree with Proud Mom...what if you had to sit on the seat cover? Although, I may not be able to resist, what would my friends think to know I had my own butler?
I do love the Harriet Carter catalogues. They actually have some very good items. My daughter, who had never seen one, just happened to lay hands on it first while I was making dinner...it was sooo funny!
You guessed, the Bingo masks are made for Halloween and costume parties, but imagine wearing them in! LOL
We really had a great deal of fun with this...fun doesn't cost anything if you know how to look. We were LOL for about an hour over these and more.
Thanks for reading!
Hey k@ri
These are indeed fun gifts and you're description of each made it even funnier! Thanks for sharing this. :D
Now I'm off to choose which one I liked the best....
Sounds like my kind of dinner, k@ri!
hahahaha. Interesting items. I guess, I want the butt bank.
Cris A-let me know what you choose! Maybe I'll make a poll.
Proud Mom-Yea, it was fun. I'm laughing now just thinking of it.
Sheenarobins-The butt bank was a big winner here also!
I'll take the bank, too. The butler is hilarious--for someone's bathroom I'm not going to use!!!
Yes, definately give that one to someone whom you only visit for very short times!
Thanks Cris A for making me think of a poll. Now people can have more fun with this!
Oh the butler! Let's see if he's gonna be all snooty after! LOL :D
Okay, I really want to know who voted for the butler set. That just cracks me up! I would like to order the slippers for a friend......
I don't think I would be able to hold a straight face, Chris, if I saw what that butler will have to see.
I admit, twas me who picked the butler - he made me laugh the hardest!
LOL PM! He can choose to close his eyes if he so desires! :D
Yes, but without hands, how will he hold his nose?
LOL on the vote, Chris. We'll have to see how this all pans out......
I find the butler the oddest of the group, that's for sure.
The Butler is the Coolest hands down!-)
I just went to a website catering to pranks to order some Crime Scene tape for a Murder Mystery Party my daughter is hosting. Upon checkout, I got this "notice" that I qualified for some special purchases.
Can you guess what one of my options was??????
The Butt Bank! For a steal at $10. I restrained the urge to add it to my cart, though. And sorry, the butler wasn't offered.
Proud Mom, LOLOLOL!!! How did you get sooo lucky? I can't believe you passed it up. It would have been such a "special" purchase...for that "special" someone?
Multimastery, Do men never sit on the toilet? Creepy, but I'm glad you guys like it!
I couldn't think of anyone to give it to, and I didn't have Chris A's address!! :-)))
Proud Mom, I don't have it either, but it would be FUN to get it to him and see how his visitors react!
It seems as if people are reading this, but not voting. I would really like to know what tacky stuff appeals to the most! Thanks!
These are so funny!!! I have seen some strange gag gifts over the years, but these are hilarious!! For Christmas, every year, the adults in my family gave each other gag gifts! It was great!
Anna Marie--Thanks!
Harriet Carter does sell normal things, things someone may actually want, but these were too much fun!
Hi K@ri! I have never heard of Harrie Carter before. So this is quite interesting. :-) I have heard of the neti pot and they say it's pretty good for helping clogged sinuses. So I would find that helpful. But the butler in my bathroom made me really laugh!
Congratulations again for being part of this week's hubnuggets nominees. Click this link to join: http://hubpages.com/hub/hubnuggets-feb20-2009
Hey guys, if you enjoyed k@ri's hub why don't you show your support by voting and joining the hubnuggets fun. Spread the word. :-) Enjoy voting. It's your hubbers right! :-)
Great hub, I love the fanny bank, congrats on the hubnugget nomination, I look forward to reading more.
Ripplemaker--Thanks for including my hub! I saw funride had a new hub and was I ever surprised to see my hub included! I'm reading all the hubs now. You all sure know how to pick them! I'm really honored to be among them.
I agree, the butler is too funny (and weird!)!
Mike--Thanks! I'm glad you liked it, the fanny bank was what started it all.
Hi K@ri, I think the kids in our preschool would love the fanny bank. You know I can just imagine their faces when they hear the sounds every time they save. LOL Now come to think of it, I would like to have one just for fun. Hahaha
Whot! I neeeeeed those slippers! :D
Since I am partially self-employed, I regard my bath robe as my "official company outfit" and am already considering ordering one with my logo on.. (gotta have a dress code, right?) ;)
Those things will bring it all together..
ripplemaker, The kids will definately enjoy that! More so if they are boys.
Essay84, The slippers are great...easy to have company, just blame the slippers!
Thanks for looking this over!
Haha, I've seen a vid on youtube about the pot... (Someone tried to use coffee instead of water.)
This one is just hysterical. I get the Harriet Carter, but never thought to share the funny stuff here. Great idea!
ethanol--Thanks, I will have to go look for that one!
Uneed2know--Thanks! Most of the Harriet Carter stuff is fairly mundane, but these were too good to pass up.
I get a kick out of paging through the Harriet Carter catalogs. You've picked out some of the highlights for sure!
I've never heard of this company - they produce some fantastic useless tat, though (-:
mulberry1, Thanks for looking! Harriet Carter is always good!
Londongirl--I guess Harriet Carter doesn't advertise in the UK, but it's always fun! You can get it on-line.
there is a similar uk shop - www.iwantoneofthose.com
From memory, their slogan is, "things you don't need, but really really want"
LondonGirl, I have to check it out!
I have alot of those things...I don't need, but I want. They usually end up in my storage shed..... :-))
Proud Mom, When I lived in NM, I had ALOT of those things. When I moved back East I sold, gave away or dumped everything that didn't fit in my car. It was very liberating. I do, however, occasionally miss some of it...but now I use my garage for my car! Yaaahhh!
LondonGirl, I just got home from work and I went to check out the site and it is down for maintenance. It told me that it was a little late to be shopping and I should be in bed...the nerve of some sites...thinking they are my Mom. I will check it out over the weekend, I guess.
I didn't know anyone kept a car in a garage. I thought they were all full of bikes, dried-up paint tins, and broken radios.
That's what happens when you get rid of everything you have collected over the years! It is very nice, I hope I can keep it that way...at least for a year!
I used to live in NM, but I brought all my junk with me--then bought more.....
I had brought lots west with me...wanted to travel light when I came back.
I just checked their site, and it's "stuff you don't need, but really really want", not "things you don't need".
For example, a "Dead Fred" pen holder:
http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/toys-games/office-t
A Margaret Thatcher nut cracker:
http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/lifestyle-home/cool
A person knife block:
http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/knife-block/index.h
And a binary clock:
http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/binary-clock/index.
I actually got my uncle (a maths freak and clock collector) the binary clock, and he loves it.
well these sounds really funny....must be good gift for someone.....great ideas...thanx for sharing lol....well what about this one for gifting someone?

LondonGirl, I think you need to do another hub on this. That Margaret Thatcher nut cracker is just too funny! Would you do the UK version?
britney, I went and check out your sites. Very Nice!! I think I was drooling during the second one. Better watch what I wish for...Thanks!!

Great for birthdays haha i love it,

LondonGirl, You definitely should!
orionsky, Glad you liked it. My family had alot of fun with this!

That might work!
I thought you'd like it! If not it may drown your sorrows :)
Good hub. I have a few people in mind for these 'perfect' gifts.
J, If you liked these, you should definitely check out LondonGirl's UK version. More perfect gifts for those 'perfect' people!
Finally...I can play Bingo without looking like a cybernetic alien! ;D
lxxy, no more scaring the little old ladies? But, some of them may like the diversity! :D

Oh, k@ri!! I LOVE this hub!!! I, too, get Harriet Carter magazines, but I've been too busy of late to look at them. You've inspired me to take the time to take a peek. And maybe buy a gift or two.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
