The nine months i spent in Greece made me realize how the greeks love basketball, i still think that it's the the main sport for most greeks, but of course loosing much to football in the last years.

I had the opportunity to watch a game, Paok vs Panionios. I must say that i'm Portuguese, so for me it's all about football, basketball in Portugal is considered a minor sport, but to see 15.000 people in a small sport hall it's a unforgettable experience. I saw all the paok fans supporting the team from the beginning till the end of the match(Paok still lost the match).

Chants that made the stadium vibrate, all the atmosphere gave me a feeling difficult to describe, i can also imagine what the players feel, this is the true sport spirit, instead of loosing their hope when the team was loosing they rather sang ans support even more.

This moments among others made me fell in love with Greece and the Greeks.

I think it's the only country that dares to present proposals to NBA players, like Kobe O'Bryant, i remember it was Olympiakos that made the offer, of course it's almost impossible to take these players to Greece but this attitudes demonstrates how much this people love basketball and the sports generally.

If you want to truelly enjoy some amazing sport's atmospheres you must travel to Greece and watch a basket or football match, then you will understand my words.
