Eat all You want and Get Healthy

Growing up in New Mexico I was used to have either Red or Green Chile for almost every meal. Green Chile was the greatest and it made almost everything taste a whole lot better. I loved red Chile as well green chile but the green stuff just had a better taste and enhanced almost any dish. However red Chile was more available since it was dried and made into a powder that you could use for years to come. Green Chile taste great with potatoes, with beans, on sandwiches, with tortillas, mixed with rice, on top of noodles and pretty much anything.

During the Month of August and September you can find Green Chile on the menu at Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Wendy's and other local chains. My favorite was a double green Chile cheeseburger from McDonald's. I am not a big Micky D fan except for that Green Chile cheese burger "Its the Greatest".

The Great thing about green Chile you can eat all you want and not get fat. Green Chile is fat free, low on calories, almost no cholesterol and has lots of fiber. Green Chile helps build up your immune defense system because it has lots of Vitamin C, even 6 times more than an orange. When Chile turns red it's loaded with vitamin A. Chile doesn't just taste great it's great for you. Even the ancient people such as the Mayans used it on a regular basis as a medicine. I rarely get sick and now I know why, eating green Chile has always made me feel good.

How to make Green Chile the way its done in New Mexico. Here is a very simple recipe for basic green Chile.

Step 1 Roast about 12 Green Chile Pods

Step 2 Peel Skin off and get rid o most of the Seeds.

Step 3 Chop up Green Chile Step

4 Chop up 1 garlic clove Step

5 Add a dash of Salt for taste

This is great stuff and you can added it to almost all your dishes and it will taste great and you will build you immune defense system. Eat all the green Chile you want and stay healthy. If your not used to eating the green stuff I have to warn you that it can be very hot and cause you to make a few extra trips to the bathroom. Over time you get used to it and only good things can happen.

I can barely eat red chile! Maybe it's because I never ate it as a child?

Thanks for comment 2Patricias

I could not eat red Chile as a child because it was too hot for me, but since everybody had Chile for almost every meal in Santa Fe, when I became a teenager I started to eat a little here and there and before you know it, I was addicted to it. Chile can be hard for some people to eat because its a very spice food and does not agree with your system. If you want to get some health benefits out of it you can try eating a little at a time and you system will get used to it.

Chili is a very, very hot spice. But yes, it does have very useful health benefits. A very good article about its benefits and chemical makeup can be found here :

I used to dispise chili since it upsets my stomach, but I learned (or my stomach) to love it and savor its benefits.
