Concert Review

Green Day have came a long way since their origins as part of the Punk Rock scene in California during the early nineties, Nearly 20 years later and after releasing 8 albums they come to perform an outstanding concert in the O2 Arena in London, The Venue itself is very impressive and makes a perfect venue for the now grown up Californians punk rockers, Green Day were playing to an almost full crowd of 20,000 fans an they did not disappoint, The show was incredibly good visually with outstanding lighting and video backdrops with some impressive pyrotechnics added that made a lasting impression, The Music was of the high quality that you would expect as they played their greatest hits alongside some tracks from their new album 21st Century Breakdown.

Green Day's lead singer Billy Joe Armstrong was at his best as he entertained the 20,000 fans, From the start of the performance Billy Joe was interacting with the audience and inviting a member up onto the stage to sing a verse from Know Your Enemybefore taking pictures and getting her to stage dive back into the crowd, Other young members of the crowd were  invited on stage and at one point three fans were drafted in to replace the band by playing the drums, bass and guitar for a song as Billy Joe sung the vocals, Throughout the show you were entertained, as well as the outstanding music Billy Joe was chatting and joking between tracks as wellas spraying the crowd with super-soakers and firing band T-shirts into the audience with a big air powered gun,

Some may critersise that after 20 years in the music industry their original fan base has grown up and moved on, however these gigs have proven that Green Day still have what it takes to entertain large crowds and know how to put on super shows that appeal for all ages,
