Green Smoothie Recipes
67All of a sudden Green Smoothies are all the rage with health enthusiasts. And for good reason. These smoothies are a great way to get all of the fruits and vegetable helpings you need for a whole day, and some people are surprised to find out that they actually taste great if you have the right green smoothie recipes.
If you have not yet been lucky enough to try a green smoothie and you are wondering what they are, its very simple. A green smoothie is your typical smoothie with plenty of fruit and ice, maybe a bit of yogurt and juice, but what makes a smoothie "green" is throwing in your favorite vegetable. You can use any vegetable you would like for the smoothie, and don't worry, it will not make your smoothie taste bad. My favorite vegetable to add to a smoothie is spinach or broccoli.
With green smoothies, you can either come up with a recipe off of the top of your head, or there are also plenty of green smoothie recipes available online and in health magazines. Though its a bit of a new phenomenon to add greens to a fruit smoothie, it definitely isn't just another one of those ridiculous passing health trends. Nobody can deny that implementing this healthy solution into your diet will do wonders for your mind and body. Now that green smoothies are getting some publicity, more and more people are going to be realizing that the greens added to their usually fruit smoothie taste great, but the benefits of adding greens makes your smoothie that much more healthy to consume.
If you are curious about where you should purchase your veggies, and fruits for that matter, I would definitely have to suggest you shop for your produce at a grocery store that offers natural and organic fruits and veggies. That way when you make your smoothie, you will not have any pesticides or unnatural preservatives that have been proven to be unhealthy to your body. Grocery stores like Whole Foods or Wild Oats are a great place to get your fruits and vegetables for you green smoothie recipes. Their produce tastes noticeably better because the flavor hasn't been diluted by pesticides etc. Though it can be a bit more expensive than buying non-organic, if you want your green smoothie to be truly healthy, organic is definitely the way to go.
So what are you waiting for? If you have not yet tried a green smoothie, go grab some fruits and veggies that you like, or grab a green smoothie recipe. Implement the green smoothie into your diet and you will notice the benefits to your body almost immediately.
